The only thing really stopping me from giving WoW a shot is that I'm too cheap to pay a monthly fee on a game I already paid for at the store.
Also, Everquest once touched me in the bad place and I've been scarred for life.

I really enjoy playing WoW but I'm nowhere near obsessed, play more on weekends but only about 1 hour on weekdays that aren't in holidays.

I almost ruined a semester of college over this damned game. It's way addicting, and you can tell, because after the hard pull once you first quit, it tapers off, and then you look back and go - wait, you mean I skipped showers and meals for that thing? Holy hell!

Open Beta - test realm 63 (or something) - Mulor, 29 Tauren Shaman
Release - Deathwing - Mulor, 60 Tauren Shaman
Ner'zhul - Highwayman, 60 Human Rogue
Emerald Dream - Mulor, 60 Tauren Shaman
Emerald Dream - Lugos, 45 Tauren Druid
about eight other little dudes that never got past 20
/played: oh my god, the fucking humanity..... something like 60-70 days played. That means 5 minutes day one and 5 minutes day two is... 10 minutes played. And I racked up the months.

So how are you progressing in WoW now, winged dreams?
I tried it a bit... had fun playing Horde on Cenarius but quickly grew tired of the usual 'pwndjoo' crowd that Blizzard games attract (yeah I've played Diablo, Diablo 2, StarCraft and know the usual munchkins that show up)
I'd play more if I could but I have come to like Everquest 2 more... I love the medieval feel of it more than the perky colours of WoW (while the graphics in WoW are great, everything doesn't need to be in technicolor).
If anyone else plays Evercrack 2 let me know... or if you're interested in finding fun people to play with, that can be arranged... the group I play with tries to keep that "we're all a family" feeling going constantly...

I do in fact play.
And on that note, I have to remember to get on for Blackwing Lair tonight. Usually I just sleep through raids...

Only in my guild can this kind of thing happen...
One of our guildmates literally disappeared from her life with nothing but a short letter letting her boyfriend know that she'd call him, (though she never did) and took off to go live with another guildmate, who she's spent every night talking to in a private room on our Ventrillo server for the past 6 months.
Her boyfriend came onto our website on her account a couple days ago, looking to see if any of us knew what was going on after going through her Private Messages and finding out that at least a couple people knew what was going on. A couple of stories were told, one where she supposedly ran off with some girl she hardly knew on a spiritual discovery. The other involved her running off across the border with some Mexican harlots she didn't even know.
A couple days passed, and her boyfriend called the police once he was able to file a missing persons report, then later discovered the truth, and that he had the phone number to where she was at all along. Turns out the truth was that she went off to stay with one of our guildmembers in New Mexico. The NM police were called in and checked it out, and she was perfectly ok and where she wanted to be when they questioned her. It was a very strange piece of drama while it lasted though.
She really sucks at this breaking up thing. Certainly could have been handled better.
Only in my freakin' guild...

That's really messed up... sorry to hear that... such things as that can tear apart a guild with people taking sides... hoping that's not the case in yours...

Well, there's really no sides in this. We all realize she pretty much went off the deepend, and her boyfriend (or ex-boyfriend now, I guess) wasn't part of our guild, or even part of our faction for that matter, so it's pretty much one of those "make a joke about it when a good opportunity presents itself" kind of thing.
Then again our guild is rather notorious, publicly known for some of our members flying across the country to fuck like rabbits. I suppose this kind of thing isn't entirely all that strange to us now that one looks back on it. Just usually people don't just disappear for days without a word to anyone. That was the weird aspect of it.
