I know rockandrose already mentioned it, but I'll second the recommendation for Tapping the Vein.

other options:
Switchblade Symphony
Ayria
Cocteau Twins
Delerium
Die Laughing
The Azoic

Drain STH - not terribly goth; rock/metal like a harder Alice in Chains

LIV KRISTINE!!!

She's in Leaves' Eyes now and was the singer in Theatre of Tragedy, the original "Beauty and the Beast" vocal style band.

She's my favorite female vocalist (and married...)

if you like bands like switchblade symphony, evanescence, lacuna coil, or all about eve, you may be interested in A Girl Called Untouchable. it's darkwave electronica with music sort of like switchblade's with more evanescence like vocals. think older evanescence on valium. the website is www.agirlcalleduntouchable.com

You guys forgot Battery, Miranda Sex Garden, Xmal, and Bjork

And I also love Hansel und Gretyl, Crisis, Kittie, Lick, Bloodflowerz and some others but they're all harder in nature - like me

I really like female lead vocals...

For quality female Vox (three part harmonies included) check out Dyonisis (www.myspace.com/dyonisis). Sheffields ethereal monarchy.

Try Left Hand Solution, Kydney Thieves, and in case no one mentioned it yet, Within Temptation. Kydney Thieves is more Industrial though.
