Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

Yarn Falls.
I like to make beautiful yarn falls and wear them. If anybody needs any advice I'd be happy to give it to them on this subject.
And let this thread be a discussion for yarn falls.

Why are you still on this forum? Didn't you go on your rag like a month ago, curse everyone out and swear never to return? It's an honest question, I've been gone for a while.
Also, grow dreads and ditch the yarn shit, it'll make you look like less of a scene kid schmuck.

Dread falls made from synthetic hair is better than both yarn falls and dreadlocks.

Dread falls are retarded. I said dreads, as in dreadlocks. And really, if your dreadlocks smell gross, you're an idiot that bought into the misconception that you can't wash dreads.

While dreadlocks are genuinely more natural and permanent, dread falls are great BECAUSE you don't have to ruin your hair, just to have a hairstyle that you might not want to have to deal with every minute of every day.
Permanent dreadfalls are kinda dumb though.

Okay:
1. First you need two scrunchies or bobbins. Make sure they're pretty sturdy, because you will be hanging all your yarn off these!
2. Take one scrunchie/bobbin and take a long piece of yarn (twice as long as the length you want your falls to be).
3. Double the yarn over and the bring the looped end through the scrunchie and tuck the other ends of the doubled over yarn into the loop of the doubled end. This sounds complicated but it is easy (just hard to describe! xxxx).
4. Repeat this LOADS OF TIMES until there's no room left for yarn on the scrunchie/bobbin. You can use many different colours of yarn, but its best to stick with only 2 or 3 different colours because too many looks tacky. Do this over a few days/weeks. You now have completed 1 yarn fall.
5. Repeat on the next scrunchie/bobbin.
Congratulations, you have now made your very own beautiful yarn falls!

Falls of all kinds are pretty stupid looking, especially when they don't even look remotely like real hair.
I'll take real dreads any day as long as they're done right. And they really don't ruin hair if you take care of them and work carefully when taking them out.

hmm, I don't really like yarn falls - but that's just my opinion.
I do like dread falls and loose falls though, as long as they are done right. It's imperative that the effort is made to blend them in with the rest of your hair, such as by wearing a headband, goggles, or a matching fringe.
Here's some falls that I've made:

Sorry, I don't think so. Are they the ones on your myspace? Yeah, not my thing. I'd rather NOT look like a washing machine thankyou. I love my beautiful yarn falls.

My friend makes AMAZING yarn falls that end up looking like dreads because, believe it or not, she doesn't just tie the yarn on a piece of string. They actually look like real hair when she's done.
You on the other hand, though it's not that bad, simply look like you have yarn ON YOUR HEAD.
I'd rather look like a sleek sexy washing machine instead of a raggedy anne doll.
Keep practicing though. You'll get good at falls someday.

KontanKarite, plz don't be so bitchy. I do NOT look like a rag doll. And Xombie stfu.
Yarn falls are different to dread falls because they don't have to blend into your hair. They are a decoration piece for your hair.
