What kind of paint do you use on leather?

I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. I recently got a vegan leather (pleather, P.U., etc. whatever you want to call it) jacket and I'm planning on doing a bunch of DIY stuff to it including possibly doing some painting on it. I was wondering what kind of paint would you recommend using on this kind of fabric?

If you spread the paint thin enough it shouldn't crack, its thick layers that you should avoid.

Acrylic worked fine on my leather jacket. Can't speak for vegan leather, but it's most likely the same concept, since it's the same texture and all.

Like people said, you want it as thin as you can get it while still having an even coat.

Hmm, okay, so acrylic paint applied very thin seems to be the way to go.. and thank you for the help. Just out of curiousity though, how well does it stand up to the weather?

I have a friend with quite an awesome leather jacket that she painted years ago and it has faded a bit but other than that it hasn't changed. Keep it thin and keep the quality high and you should be fine.
