Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

I'll definitely be sniffing around for that DVD, like I did with their newest album. You should also check out Lord Vampyre's solo career, that's pretty good also. I'd like to hear Sonya's interview, the band's history has been pretty shrouded from all I've discovered.

She_Is_My_Sin,
Do you have Sky TV, if so have you heard of Redemption TV (channel 368)?.
Theatres Des Vampires were on a few weeks ago (dont worry its often repeated), they had an interview and two live songs (`Angel of Lust`and `Dances with Satan`), it was brilliant .
Click on the link for more info... as Redemption TV have also had Bands like Nightwish, Within Temptation, My Dying Bride, Ghost Orgy and many more...

Hungry Lucy is some really good, semi-dark industrial kind of stuff.
Scarling. is also good, it's another band with Jessika from Jack Off Jill, but it's more mellow than JoJ.

Alas I don't, which is a shame because I know I'd really love it. Damn Freeview! But I'll be getting that DVD. I've seen quite a few of the video's from Nightwish. Same with W.T...the only song I am desperate to get by them is their cover of that Kate Bush song. Damn the staff at HMV! I asked if they could order a copy of the single or the version of 'The Silent Force' with it on & the guy didn't even bother! Grrr. I'llk ask my friend if she could record something from Redemption for me, she's nice & I know she would

She_Is_My_Sin,
I would recomend going on the bands website and ordering directly from the online shop, if you dont have any further luck ordering your single at HMV, try the link below.
Click here for the Within Temptation website shop
Happy CD hunting .

It wasn't on there! *hmph* I'd look in Virgin, but my nearest & dearest has shut down to become a clothes shop. Oh well. I haven't been on the site in ages. I didn't even notice the picture of Sharon's baby, Luna! Awww she's so sweet. Anyways, I'll just have to root around & settle with Kate Bush's version. I know my father has it somewhere.

Anyone know a band named Flyleaf?
They supported Staind this week and I’ve never before been so impressed by a support act that I have never herd of before. Nor have I been so amazed the big voice of such a small woman for a lead singer. A kickass live act.
I’ll try to find out more about them on the net.

Well if anyone's into the metal scene head to www.ladiesofmetal.com that's where I found most of the bands I quite like.
Oh & Beowulf I've been trying to reply to your PM & Worst Band ever post for days but the computer keeps mucking up. Trust me I have the next installment of Gothzilla's adventures!

I think you should post a picture of Gothzilla on the Art thread so we can see what he looks like.

I was wondering if anyone would mention Kate Bush. She is a goddess - such a range and such fantastic vocal stylings. She's cuckoo, of course, which just adds to the charm.
This Mortal Coil and Bel Canto have sweet female vocals.
And anyone ever heard of "All About Eve"?
A good resource for sweet female vocals is opera. Some of my favourite opera songs are Madame Butterfly's "Un bel dei", La Boheme's "Si. Mi Chiamano Mimiand", and Carmen's "L'amour est un oiseau rebelle"
Maria Callas is a beautiful singer too.
Oh and Lacuna Coil and Evanescence and Nighwish rock!!!!11 Have they been mentioned at all yet? XP

Has anyone heard of Arch Enemy?
I couldn't believe that they have a female lead singer!!! Her voice sounds so masculine!

Hehe, I didn't see your post...
When my friend told me that the singer's a girl, I was as shocked as your friend!!
Everytime I hear them, I find it hard to believe that this is a girl singing.

Check OPERA IX. Melodic black metal with gothic elements - and I've always thought their version of Bauhaus's Bela Lugosi's Dead was better.
Newer albums are more melodic. I own their The Black Opera, it's great.
Woman leader and singer and the heart of the band, no less.
But if you prefer Nightwish then I recommend Rain Fell Within and stuff like that.

Shi'ark already mentioned Flyleaf... Wicked Wisdom has female lead. Why are there barely any females in big postions in rock?

Well, there's Siouxsie.
Sirenia
Within Temptation (excellent voice)
Theatre Des Vampires (I don't personally like her voice and it has those Black Metal growls from the male singer, tsk tsk but you never know)
Lacuna Coil
Rain Fell Within
After Forever
Epica
Edenbridge
Orphanage
Moonspell.
Lacrimosa (Anne Nurmi has a really good voice but there's also Tilo Wolf singing so you'll have to deal with it).
Darkwell
Leaves Eyes

I'm digging Jada and her band Wicked Wisdom. She's a sexy little beast and she has the voice of a much larger scarier person. Who knew she had that gutteral capability?
