These days, unless you've specifically made it otherwise, you generally have a dynamic IP. That means that if you even reset your router, you will have a new IP.

..that's why you ban xxx.xxx.xxx.0 /24
(or 5 numbers up and down from the original ban-IP if that's too drastic.)

Complain about Vbb v5+ iirc. Fuckers took out the ability TO NEVER SEE SOMEBODY AGAIN. (You could not ignore mods/admins however.)
Guy named Kier is the master admin for the forum software. Do complain about it. (Be nice. I use one of his pet forms regularly.)

As long as I can't see the person's posts, I really don't care if I see their name or not. It actually makes it -less- confusing, because if I see someone post something in response to someone on my ignore list, I'm a lot less confused as to what they're talking about.
I just recently started to use the ignore feature. 'Tis lovely, it is.
