What do you expect from Vampire fiction?

I ask because I've just finished writing a novel about an 'accidental' vampire, and the number 1 question I keep being asked is... wait for it...

"Is it like Twilight?"

Seriously? Surely not everyone thinks like that?!

So I just want to pick everyone's brains... What do you hope to see when you pick up a vampire novel?
