Health and livelihood, m'dear. Health and livelihood.

No one remembers how good you looked at your funeral.

They especially don't remember f you had to have a closed casket because you were that severely beaten.

Whether or not we like it, society has only come so far. We still have to somewhat live within their "norms" for mere survival sakes. The key is learning how far you can push their rules.

In the end, self preservation has to always win though. Dying for a skirt is silly. Moreso, getting your ass beat or assaulted is stupid for a skirt.

Self expression is great, and I am all for it... but sometimes you have to accept limitations in the light of wisdom.

My sympathies are with you, Sir Canvas... I spent many years having to fit into a box for my family. *hug*

I've heard of binding before. Could you please tell me, how exactly is this attained? Is it just wearing a corset backwards? Does it hurt? Please write back.

When I bind I find that the easiest thing to is to use an ace bandage (the elastic type that you use to wrap joints or what have you when you get injured, you can get them anywhere that has pain relievers), if you are rather well endowed and/or have a large ribcage then I would recomend using two. Essentially you just wrap the bandage around your chest, the key is that since you have a good sized rick you need to evenly distribute your breasts so that they are pushed into the shape of pecs instead of breasts because you aren't going to be able to get them completely flat. I have done it a bunch of times and the only time that it hurt was when I spent the entire day bound (as in 10+ hours) and even then it didn't really hurt, my breasts were just a tiny bit sore.

Ah thank you for that. Do you sorta push your breasts up and press the elastic over the nipples and all, or do you press the elastic over the "chest" part of your breasts, leaving the nipples pointing down almost?

It kind of depends on the shape of your breasts, it may be best for you to try a few different things out, possibly enlisting the help of a close friend as it can be a bit of a pain to actually wrap yourself up if you aren't quite sure what you're doing. I'm rather blessed with full, perky breasts and I start in the middle, right across the nipple, and work my way up with one end of the bandage and down with the other.

Thank you! I shall try it out. Out of curiosity, if you don't mind me asking, why do you choose to bind your breasts? Do you prefer a more androgynous aesthetic?

My university throws an annual drag ball and that was the reason why I bound my breasts the first time (honestly what is the fun of a drag ball if you don't go in drag?). Other than that I love the reaction that I get out of people because I make a surprisingly convincing, not to mention sexy, skater boy, especially since I have a very low voice for a girl so even after I start talking you can't really tell what my gender is (although as a boy I look a little underage, like 16-17ish), plus sometimes I just get sick of the attention that my breasts attract That being said I don't do it very frequently, maybe once every few weeks, most of the time I'm quite girly.

I cross dress and my girlfriend is cool with it. I just feel more comfortable wearing a dress or skirt. As long as its black!

I've done lots of deliberate gender-fucking in the past. As a boy disaffected with social norms just getting into his own looks, 'feminine' styles provided a mountain of unexplored venues for improvement. For quite a while in my eyes, looking girlier and looking nicer were the same thing. Going against the grain and messing with peoples heads were enjoyable side benefits.

These days though, I simply ignore gender conventions. I still look rather androgynous, but I use anything I like regardless of gender connotations rather than aiming for feminine things specifically. I only get taken for a girl at medium to long distance about 10 to 20% of the time now. =P

I have a thing for cross dressers, but when I try to do it lately I end up looking like a Beatle.

Mmm, genderfucking. Love it. I have a spectacular pair of shorts that when paired with the right boots make me look like a total guy, depending on what I do with the upper half. And tuxedos. I adore tuxedos. My tuxedo and top hat is one of my favorite things to wear when getting dressed up.

I realized the other day i get away with cross dressing every day I go to work.

Unfortunately, women's clothes don't seem to fit me very well, despite being 5'7" and very curvy. Regular sizes never seem to have enough room in the neck, across the shoulders and bust, or have long enough arms. Women's pants aren't built sturdily, or have any room in the pockets, or leg room. Work boots don't come in a women's size 12. So, i end up with men's work pants, ( dickies, carhartts etc), men's tees because women's bind up around the biceps and shoulders and plus size large enough to fit biceps, shoulders and bust look like tents, and men's button up shirts because women's button up blouses don't have neck room, space in the shoulders, or long enough sleeves, never mind trying to find them in something like flannel or canvas.

My entire outfit is made of men's wear, with the exception of my underwear and hair ties.

no one says a thing. I can only imagine how my co-workers would react if any one of the guys on the crew tried something similar in reverse.

My hair is red now; presumably that's where that comparison came from.

Like I said, old pictures. =)
