How much did that cost?

Not that much when done properly. The bigger problem is the moving a lot while you sleep. I usually sleep on one side and am out like a light. Also, you'd have to stretch your shirts slightly to get the hawk in. The length you have in your profile isn't too bad, mine was 13 inches though, created a bit of a problem with shirts.
Also, if you're looking for a good, cheap way to get your hair up, soap works well, the thick lathery kind, egg whites work, but they tend to smell, knox works like a fucking miracle, but don't do that unless you WANT the hair up for a bout a week and a half.
If your issue is the constant putting it up, and you've got a bit of cash to splurge, look into joico hair ice styling glue. It's slightly expensive, but a little of it goes a long way. I used when I last had my hawk (within the last year or two) and something maybe the size of my pinky nail was enough to get the front three inches of it up, and my hawk was 10" at that time. It's very potent. Learn to use it well, too much will make your hair flop.

Alright. So, I bought three packages of Knox, but how do I use them?

Also, don't say I didn't warn you, but knox makes your hair almost concrete. I'm not kidding you, it won't come down on it's own for quite a while and will feel like steel. Use with caution.

But can it do my type of mohawk? Liberty Spikes I can see happening, but a wide mohawk?

I think your hawk is too deathhawk-like for glue to work... The only sort of things I've seen it used on are stiff, massive fans and solid liberty spikes (the sort that hurt when you're headbutted with them). Can't hurt to give it a try, though. I myself have never had to use anything beyond hairspray, and if I wanted to I could keep my hawk up for days on end. And my hair isn't short either.

Yeah you can do a fan with it. Keep in mind, it'll be a smooth, constant fan. It won't have that roughed up a little look, such as in your profile.

Would a mohawk work on someone with a rounder face-shape? I would really love to try, but I'm wondering if my face is too round for one, and if I'd just end up regretting it.

I've seen every face around under a hawk, yes, they can work. If your face is really round, or round, simply make your hawk wider.

bluey-green-vein - I think I'm falling in love with you. Haha.
My own hair
I occasionally put my hair up in a 'hawk but I don't really think it suits me, I think my neck's too short. It's always fun to play around with though.

OK, I know you are tired of these endless questions, and some of you would probably want to kick me right off the 'net, but..
I was thinking about getting an occassional deathhawk, but.. I just don't know how to do it. I never teased my hair, and I worked with hair gel only about twice in my whole life.. I did looked thru the forum, there was lots of advices, but I still don't get the process of getting it up, and having it look.. traditional (think Johnny Slut).
And if it matters, my hair is pretty much straight, no curling.

Aladar, you know what? I feel like being nice today, so I´ll post a video for you. Mind you, this is a half- edited version of a tutorial I´m making, so there are quite a few bloopers and stuff in it yet that will go away in the final version. Anyway, it does show how I do my hawk. I´m converting it right now, and will upload it and post, mmkay?

I checked what the matter was - it´s too long for youtube. (That´s why I´m editing it, be prepared for long periods of not much happening, lol)
I am reuploading it, no worries. If it all goes okay, I´ll have the link for you in about ten minutes.
