Australia Meet and Greet.
Being fairly new to this site and it's members, does anyone have a good estimate at how many fellow Australians are here? Who'd like to be the first in my friendly meet and greet?

I wouldn't know exactly how many Australians are here, but I'd estimate it at above 10 - though that's probably including people who no longer post here much.
So what part of Australia are you from?

Melbourne, been here for roughly a year. It's not bad, just don't really know a lot of people.

I wouldn't mind visiting Melbourne one day. Or Sydney.

Check out the Melbourne Goth Forum for events and stuff. A friend of mine hosts a monthly goth meetup which is great for meeting new people, not to mention there's usually some club night running every week (like 1334 for example, which is on next Saturday). I moved down here only last year and met a good lot of friends through those sorts of things.

A friend told me about 1334, I'd like to see it. I'm a little paranoid when I'm out so I'll be sure to bring some people I know. A local goth meetup sounds pretty interesting too.

Well the 1334 this Saturday is set to be pretty big - it's the first one in about 3 months, now that the club runners are back from Wave Gotik Treffen. Plus I'm DJ-ing, yay. So yeah, you should totally check it out with your friends!

I would be delighted to go, but I've been pretty much bed ridden the past week, not even going to band practice, which is pretty much the only time of the week I'm out of the house for sure. How long till the next one?

Being Australian is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then on the way home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV.

Being a kiwi is being a kiwi.
When did Australia start up it's patriotic culture? It's funny that we hear all these rumors about Aussies from across the ditch but never hear their views. xD

19th of July I think. I won't be DJ-ing at that one due to being on the other side of the world, but I'm sure it'll still be a great night.
And disorder - Haha, that's pretty much true.

Hey cool, I've just been in Hobart visiting my girlfriend. I did see numerous amounts of Goths there. I'm moving in with her ASAP, I love the weather, the people and just the place. It's beautiful.
I'm from a much hotter part though, Port Augusta about 300km out of adelaide. it's shit. it's hot. and it's gothless.

I'm also Australian. I'm from Sydney, but have recently moved to Bathurst. I've been floating around Gnet for a couple of years, but only post occassionally. I'm a Mod on the Brisbane Goth Forum and Sydney Goth Forum at gothic.org.au.
Oh, and Sydney is better than Melbourne. I just had to say it. It is written in my contract.
