Hahaha. I think I am somewhat tanorexic, but the water was also quite green. My legs aren't green out of the water.
But the paleness is mainly because my legs have barely seen daylight for a few years. I'm not in the habit of wearing shorts or skirts without stockings.

I'm reading through this topic for this very reason. I have to work outdoors a lot, and I have a fair tan on my hands and face. I keep everything else covered (I always wear long sleeve shirts and pants), though those two spots must endure several hours a day in the sun. The fact that we have had perpetual sunlight for the last five months here hasn't helped at all.... In the winter, I usually keep my hands in gloves. I should really just duck my head in the sun, but I have a habit of walking with a military posture (four years of Air Force Auxiliary precipitation do that to you).
I did have a medical event about four months ago where I collapsed and past out and lost all the colour to my skin. I actually began to wonder if I could some how keep looking like that. I rather liked it. =P

I am somewhat pale except for the red tone in my cheeks I get.
I stay out of the sun as well. I also apply lotion to my skin. It seems to lighten my skin up. Which makes me happy.
I tend to freak if I get a tan or a sunburn, even if its a little one. I go as far as wearing long-sleeved shirts if I happen to have one.

Does anyone know of a sunscreen that won't make my face shine like a lightbulb?

Errr, this Neutrogena SPF 70 I was handed today. It gives more of a lighter, matté look to your skin.. I'll get the full name of this stuff tomorrow. It's rather nice..
(Why my mother handed it to me, I have no clue. She said it'll keep me from tanning too much. :| Agreed and thank you, but when did I say I was going for paler skin (to you)???)

I have reddish cheeks, too.
I wear my hoodie in the summer.. it get's hot, but it's great sun protection. When I tan, I turn a dark yellowish bronze. I really only like milk pale skin and red-brown, so tans make me feel ugly.

I can see only one vein and it's on my left breast , it's huge as well :/ I can't see any others at all. If there were any visible on my inner forearms , which is where they can be seen on all my friends, then mine are no longer visible. But that is probably because they are hidden by all the ink ! ^_^

I'm both extremely pale and blonde, which mostly just means I can't get away with wearing very interesting make up. Dramatic eyeshadow or lipcolor looks garish and ridiculous on me. I could pull it off in high school, when I darkened my hair. I miss it.
Seeing the trace of a vein here or there is oddly pretty, but too many visible veins I tend to associate with illness.

Lmao, getting as little sleep as possible? That'll only make your skin look worse.

I bought it not so long ago and I found it impossible to blend. It looked patchy and streaky on my skin. I didn't like it at all. If you want a good sunscreen, I recommend Hawaiian Tropic spf 50+ for sensitive skin. It is oil free, offers broad spectrum protection, it is fragrance free, waterproof, hypoallergenic, non comedogenic, and it is enriched with antioxidant vitamins A, C & E. Plus, it comes with a lip balm.
As a matter of fact, I tried to look for it at my local Walgreens (that's where I bought it in the first place) today and I couldn't find it. I ended up buying one by Banana Boat, which I've never tried before, by the way.

If you want the pale look, just try to stay away from the sun as much as possible, wear a broad spectrum sunscreen every single day, and use a good, yet gentle, facial scrub daily. Stay away from the lemon and hydrogen peroxide mixture, though. It will only make you more susceptible to the sun, therefore causing you to tan more, and will damage your skin, in the long run.

i'm of celtic descent, so my skin is naturally pale and looks like porcelain... but if i get even a little bit of sun my skin goes bright pink and i end up looking like beatroot girl T.T ... plus no matter how much sun block i put on those evil rays burn me.
so my advice for all of you is buy a parasole and wear big, BIG hats... they help alot.

Wow, in just a few weeks of keeping sunscreen on me constantly, I have lightened up a lot. Just barely need a bit of foundation to even the colour...

Well, I don't know anything about those pills and stuff, but it's really hard to stay pale here- I live in the bloody Caribbean of all places- but I only wake at night, and when I have to go out during the day, I cover myself from head to toe (yes, in this equatorial heat- I don't mind) cos those SPF things don't work for me... BUT, I can suggest you try Indian skin-lightening products, which I use...when I'm bothered...

I've got naturally pale skin and i've got nothign to do utdoors so i'm cooped inside alot so no sunlight for moi, and I don't tan..i burn...burn some more..then pale back down in a few days XD
I can see veins occasionally and the fact that even though im 70kg I look around 40-50kg really helps wth the sick look XD
The pale skin also really rbings out some of my scars, which I like cause scars make me feel sexy <3

I'm kind of pale, not too much, depends on the lighting...Like on the picture in my profile, that's only because of my bathroom lighting. I seem to tan in the weirdest places. Example? I sit in my room all day...Shirt off because it gets hot and some how I manage to tan a little.

I'm of Italian descent, so I tan like crazy no matter what I do. Even now, in winter, I am relatively pale, but still have a definite olive tint to my skin.
The only thing that seems to help is staying indoors all day (yay for lab work). Even when I wear sunblock, I tend to tan...just not as quickly!
I've found that wearing certain shades also helps create the illusion of paleness. Black doesn't look particularly good on me, unless it's winter and I'm at my palest. (I wear it anyway.) I look much better in dark purple (which contrasts with the yellow-ness of my skin) or charcoal grey.
