To make people realize that black matches EVERYTHING...everything but happiness.
Just kidding.
I have found that some of the funnest people on the planet wear nothing but black, and the most creative. It just....versitality that does it for me.

Since Goth started with punk but since Goth is an oposite of punk the Goth look got very quickly established as stylish, clean, elegant and romantic. There is no other color that can so quickly represent this better than black. Plus I have always liked dark colors, specially black.

This is going to sound a bit odd, but I wear black to connect with the darker aspect of nature. Also, If someone of the like mind is looking for me, It makes it that much faster.

I have a few reasons for wearing black, and none of them are very deep or meaningful. It's slimming, it goes well with other colors, and it doesn't stain when I get too messy killing the neighbors. Whoops, did I say that out loud?

i dont really think goths try to dominate...it just seemed like the answer to pick because it was strange.
i wear black because...
its slimming.
it stands out yet blends in
no matter how dirty it gets it will still look good enough
it hides how i feel
it is one of my favorite colours
i know probbly all of my reasons have already been said but thats why i wear black...is that so wrong?

I've read throught this whole post, and you're one of the only people I can kind of relate to on this matter. -_-
I wear black because it represents my soul, my mood and the things I do. It represents me, basically. To me, wearing black is like showing myself, showing that I have a darker soul than the rest, That I am who I am, me. Which is probably why I'd rather make my own clothes, suited to my own personal tastes than to buy something that everyone else has, because it's not a representation of me...

Any way yeah I love red and black not because it might be a "Goth" thing. But I just love wearing the colours.

It took you, what, 45 minutes to think of a lie and type that up?

i totally agree, goths can wear whatever they want, it's a state of mind not a fashion statement...

I wear black because i wear clothes. And my clothes are black. Don't ask me why, ask the voices! They made me do it!
i know this doesn't really fit with the topic, but i just found it and i like it.

Jesus wore black because it was totally styling and still goes with every other colour to this day. The man was a fashion genius.

It's also proven that people who quote random overheard facts, perpetuate the irritating deluge of silly myths that we find ourselves besieged with here at Gothic.net.

I wear black because it feels like me. It's comfortable. Other colors make me feel like I'm wearing someone else's skin.

Jeez, why do people hate pink so much? I can understand not looking good in the color but don't hate it just because it's not 'goth'. That's plain idiotic.
