My most recent DIY project was this choker.

Unfortunately (for my bank account) this was not a cheap necklace. I spent over $150 on supplies but I got exactly what I wanted.
All of the beads are crystal and all of the metal parts are sterling silver (any other metal gives me a rash) and the pendant was made from silver art clay.

Of course I could have bought one BUT It would not have had the right logo on it. Plus this one fits like a glove and I damn well know that I will not get a rash from it. Of course there is the added factor of the pride one gets when you can say I made it and that it is one of a kind.

He has a point. I love when I say I made something, and people don't believe me. It lets me know it's quality work.

I'll always make things myself when given the chance, no matter the cost. As sekhmet said, you can make them exactly how you want them to be.

That really is an beautiful choker. It looks a lot better than most of the jewellry I see selling for even more than $150.

Here are two I made today:

Yesterday I tied lace and ribbon around a couple elastics to make a pair of hairpieceish things. I'm very proud.
Years ago, I made a thin cloth collar/choker with an awesome button on it.
I've also made a couple pairs of arm-warmer/fingerless glove things.

A corset imitation (not real one....that´s so difficult!..), and a long cotton skirt.

Well I simply enjoy taking t-shirts and cutting them into haltar tops. Then after that I normally cut out four inches off the back and turn the remaining back into a corset-like look. It turns out very well but it takes a few times to be able to know were to cut it to fit you the right way.

I think I've put this somewhere else, but, oh, whattheheck...I need to brag

I've finally made something myself that looks good! It's a pari of protable lace cuffs, and theire beautiful and white and somewhat fringy (sp?) and look oh, so victorian

I jus sew some cotton curtain lace to a couple of elastics, and voila, lace cuffs. I'll post pics later, right now I've gotta find that champagne

I like to make a lot of skirts and what not...I've made a black tutu with a big satin bow on it, which badteccy is now in possession of, I've made a poufed out vertical striped skirt with a huge lace bow and tail on it, and a Victorian-esque taffeta skirt with a mock bustle, but my sister helped with that.

I'm working on a nehru trenchcoat, made from a dark olive fabric.

I've made a bunch of stuff, but my favorite was a thick black apron with a green pouch on it. It was awesome.

Recently I made a yellow and black sundress.
