Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

I get my torn dress and skirt wearing desires (for stage attire) from Cinema Strange. I know they didn't do it first, but they look damn rad.

It's only 2/3 done at the point I tested it at Ren Faire:
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...a/100_1348.jpg
I made everything but the mailes headpiece and necklace. Hand coined and beaded the damned bra. Almost done. Took me so long I now have to take up the size.

I'm resurrecting this thread due to the fact that I have made another pendant, not as elaborate as the last in terms of image, but I laaaaike it
]
It makes people look twice and raise eyebrows, my friends all said " Yes yes you are " at which point I laughed and had to explain that it is indeed a band. Fooools!!!

Does including DIY piercings count in this thread???
Because if it does I did my 3rd - 7th holes in my ears.
That was actually fun.

I fix a lot of my clothes.
I also have a "WWTWOBD?" (What Would The Wife Of Bath Do?) tshirt that I have to fix up cuz it fits poorly (but WWTWOBD was too cool to pass up; got it for 2$ at a second hand store).
As for things I've made recently, I made a shirt out of semi-transparent, white-with-black-18t-century-French-pastoral designs on it. It has an empire waist and large bell sleeves. They hang a full 90 degrees down when I my arms are horizontal.
I'll post pictures of this stuff (including the stuff I posted on the second page of this thread) as soon as I get around to charging the batteries in my camera.
I also want to paint a pair or two of jeans and a tshirt and/or tank top. Don't have fabric paint, so I might use some of my cheap oil paint. Or just get some fabric paint. :P
I also want to make a panel skirt. I'm going to Value Village later this evening and will likely get a straight skirt for that purpose. It'll put some crepe-back satin and some netting stuff that i have to good use.
You know what I just had an idea for? One can embroider one's own designs into netting. *ponders*

Don't see why you couldnt. You most certainly could do a cross stitch pattern on it.

I am making a cylindrical bag out of an old camera lens case.
]
Bronze coloured skeleton leaves and fabric paint glued and painted on, and I want to give it a steampunk twist by stenciling on the outlines of clock gears, with an actual big gear on the lid ( If I can get the fucker to stick ) . It needs a strap too , I might use a really thin belt for that.
