I walked into a Barnes and Noble a few days ago and I saw an entire table + wall-to-floor shelf full of Twilight books.

I have a friend who was trying to get me to read Twilight before the movie came out. Then the movie came out and now she's obsessed.

I have another friend who doesn't read and she saw the Twilight movie and said it changed her life and that it was the most romantic love story she's ever seen in her whole life. She said she "hoped that they stayed together forever".

I have still not read or seen Twilight, but it seems like the sort of stuff one sees on the "young adult" shelves at the bookstores.

It is young adult drivel. As for the title to this thread, it scared me more than any horror movie or book in a long, long time. I also knew in that moment I would never hear the end of it from my sister-in-law, who is obsessed with it like a fat kid and cake. Thank the elder gods it was fake!!

I will also put myself out there and admit that I've read the books. I felt like I had to know what everyone was all excited about. Now I know, and now I can go about trying to find some way to block them from my mind. I need Drain-o for the brain.

I must admit I had an instinctual gut-wrenching reaction that threatened to wash out the calm and soothing logic that told me that Twilight could never be nominated for a Pulitzer.

I hate Twilight books. I read part of the first one, and never got past the first time he glittered...

I typed the words 'when will' into Google in order to see the most commonly entered searches. They are, in order of frequency:

"When will I die"
"When will the world end"
"When will twilight be on DVD"
"When will twilight come out on DVD"
"When will I get married"
"When will twilight be released on DVD"
"When will the recession end"
"When will the economy get better"
"When will I see you again"
"when will I be loved"

Sweet christ.
