Gothic author charting course to publication

Hey Everyone, My name is Robert Perry, and I am new to this site. I am an author who is seeking publication and who is charting this course in a blog. If you are interested in following along, check out my blog at http://accantoallatomba.blogspot.com. I'm also on Facebook; look for Robert Perry.

A little about me: I'm a gothic/psychological horror writer who is heavily influenced by the works of Poe, with some prominent touches by Lovecraft's style. Although I don't do slasher, my works mirror Poe's bloodiness; heads have been cut off; bodies drained of their blood, then consumed; faces smashed with shovel heads, etc. In most of my works, the central character slowly slips into maddness while he is antagonized by either the demons in his mind or a very real and powerful witch-like female presence. I have a thing for witches, and they seem to play an important role in my work, as well as Wiccan "theology."

I have completed one full length novel, one novella and a score of short stories (my true passion). I am lining up to start another novella. All my works are on bn.com (look under the ebooks tab for Robert Oliver).

The blog is a humorous, yet truthful attempt to convey to the public what I am enduring in my attempts to get published. I hide nothing and reveal everything. I have just started it, so the endeavor is rather new.

If you are interested, feel free to check out the blog and see what I'm up to. Also, like my page on Facebook and check out my works at bn.com.

How many times have you been published? Do you have an agent and publisher? How many different places do you submit your work and do you talk and exchange ideas with other authors?

I have some works on bn.com, electronic format, but have never been published in physical form. I would love to share ideas and converse with other authors about writing styles and ideas, etc.

Yo.

I'm a playwright and poet who's dabbled in prose writing from time to time.

Check my Website for the full bio.

What do you want to talk about?

I will certainly check out your bio. That's pretty cool that you dabble in theater. I have considered transforming one of my works into a theatrical piece. Have you done that before? How easy is it? What do you normally write?
My writing is psychological horror, much like Edgar Allan Poe's. He is a superb author and master of the macabre. He and H.P. Lovecraft are major influences on my writing.

I've met with my cover designer for the first time, and he is putting together a design for The Witch House, a story of mine. The short work of fiction is awesome in scope, and deals with a young witch and her lover. I usually write horror, but this one turned out to be a morbid and gothic love story of sorts. It was a difficult one for me to write.

Question for you: what story was hard to read or write for you?
