Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Music to run/exercise to
For those of you who exercise or run, what do you listen to? Have you got a playlist or a mixed cd (or tape?!), and if so what's on it?

The Cruxshadows are great to excercise to. I also will work out to The Arctic Monkeys and Flogging Molly.
Certain Joy Division songs work too.

Jazz. But that makes you want to strut during the exercise so it may be somewhat detrimental.
However, A Perfect Circle is also great along with The Cruxshadows, as Despanan mentioned.

I usually listen to stuff like Black Stone Cherry, Hinder and 69 Eyes, or electronic stuff like Johnny Hollow.

In my opinion, Podrunner can't be beat.
Essentially, this site mixes various kinds of dance music into hour-long running mixes set to a specific bpm. You can find mixes in the 140s and 150s for beginners and slowpokes, 170s and 180s for speedsters. Most of my runs are six miles or less, so the length of the mixes is perfect for me. Plus, having a solid mix of music on my iPod, all set to the same beat, lets me concentrate on my pace more and fumble with my iPod less.
You can either download mp3s directly from the website, or get them as a free download on iTunes.

Um...most of my exercise comes in the form of clubbing so the music is already provided. Other than that I just do some daily situps and pushups, which don't take long and don't really need music.

Get Designer Drugs Datamix 03, 04 or 08. Those should be good to run to.

MJK's voice can be quite motivational when it comes to moving. You'd be surprised.
What K-Pop would you recommend?

I like running to Opeth or the Grateful Dead partly because their songs are so long and I force myself to run until a song is over.

I like A Perfect Circle for exercise because the heavier songs get you going a bit, and the quieter ones are great for maintaining whatever exercise you happen to be doing.
Stuff like Pet and Judith and Passive are good for getting going, stuff like the Noose and The Package are good cause they have a decent build-up.

Funny, I've been on a Combichrist kick as of late, well pretty much an industrial kick actually, so Suicide Commando, Angelspit, Front Line Assembly, Wumpscut, Funker Vogt and SITD.
Alan, why the hell would I say Burzum?? Darkthrone is way better to exercise to.
