Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Actually, I like that one song Jolene. I've recently discovered my girlfriend has a great singing voice & we've done a lot of drunken pissing around on the acoustic lately, and she does a damn good version.

Yeah dude, I blast that shit. I remember being sixteen and twatty and having really low self-esteem and listening to that song. I figured "Hey, Dolly is fucking cute, and if there's some bitch out there she feels jealous of and can't compete with then it's alright for me".
Like I said, I was 16. Don't judge.

Back In Baby's Arms by Patsy Cline was one of my favourite songs when I was a kid. Fuck, I forgot all about her.

I do like all the classic country artists that have been mentioned here. My favorites are Patsy Cline (how can you not be moved by "Crazy") and Hank Williams. And Hank was one hell of a songwriter ... I know that because I even like it when other people perform his songs.
Nora Jones - Cold, Cold Heart
And I've always loved the Highwaymen ... Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson.
The Highwaymen - Desperados Waiting For A Train
The Highwaymen - Lovin' Her Was Easier
The Highwaymen - Good Hearted Woman
But I can't say I'm impressed with much they call country that's come out in the last 20 years ... it just sounds like they're trying too hard to imitate pop/rock ... only with a twang.
