Muffled Clamor
In a minefield full of perfectly capable working mines
I stumbled upon yours.
You had a pearlescent metal shell
So bright, so beautiful.
I was alive, finally alive after years of stagnation;
The adrenaline I felt from silence.
After years of apathetic misappropriation
I'm filled with a world of mirth.
This metal ring I've grown to hold
Is a comforting hearth.
Scared of combustion I'm afraid to peel back
Your metal shell, fearing it might upwell.
Tentative to extract all the feelings you've withheld
Trepidation takes it's hold, as I start to unfold
...And see the heart of such a fragile weapon.
Placid with the obfuscated lack of destruction
My heart quips with a hiccup as I pickup
the intricate workings of this delicate monster. This tenacious flower
Having stumbled upon such resplendence
Within fortuitous chaos
You've left my mind at ease
With such pleasantries.
