Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Malice Mizer
WOW i'm surprised there isn't already a thread about this band..
seeing as there are lots of Dir en grey fans here, i thought someone would like them..
well, just for those that dont know, malice mizer were a japanese visual kei rock/metal/experimental band, but now, sadly they are no more
justwondered really if anyone else likes/d them at all and what your favourite songs are?
mine are definately
au revouir
syunikiss
le ciel
gekka no yasoukyoku
illuminati
(off the le merveille album)
ghakt and mana are pretty awesome.. and omg so cute.

I know little about them, but someone showed me one song of theirs called "Beast of Blood." I liked it. I looked for more songs of theirs, but the rest never appealed to me like that one...
And I'm not surprised there isn't a thread for them, really =p

Not too fond of them, to be honest. I'm more the postpunk/ shoegazer/ dream pop type.

I like and miss Malice Mizer, I don't like Moi Dix Mois nearly as much.
My favorite video/song is definately Beast of Blood, no doubt. I also like Gardenia, Le Ciel, and Illuminati.

I like Syunikiss and Itsuwari no Musette. Beast of Blood and Illuminati never fail to make me smile or laugh... I always hear "bean sprout" instead of "beast of blood" and well there's a bit of an in-joke with any type of whipping sounds with my friends...

I'd like to listen to their music and see what they are like so I can judge them, but I cannot find any of their music (to download free) anywhere...
I'm also looking for music by the band moi dix mois.
Anybody have links to share..?

I like Malice Mizer, but I'll admit- I much prefer Dir En Grey. (I just think they're cuter. That, and Malice Mizer doesn't have 'Clever Sleazoid;' but they do have 'beast of blood' Hmmmm...... )

Gackt owns them all with a pretty iron fist.

I absolutely love malice mizer. Moi dix Mois is great but their songs are getting worse. I always hear "beast butt" instead of "beast of blood".
Hurray for their engrish!

I love Malice Mizer, but they're not on the top. I think I prefer Moix dix Mois, actually. Over all though, are The Candy Spooky Theater, featuring Jack Spooky, who inspires basically all of my outfits.

Malice Mizer is one of my favorite bands of all time, especially when Klaha was their singer.
Here's a Youtube of one of my favorite songs of theirs:

Malice Mizer is my all time favorite band EVER.
I have all of thier stuff. Kept up with all of the solo projects and am madly in love with Klaha. *__* I'm such a retard for following all of these bands that have spawned from malice Mizer but ah I just miss em'.
Merveilles is a classic album and voyage was also very good. Bara no sedou just made me scream it was very good. I can decide on a fvaorite album but from Gackt era my song is Bel Air and from Klaha id go with Gardenia <3

Malice Mizer was a bad ass ban. Mana is a bit too overblown by fangorls and they don't understand the music much. To be honest I think Gackt is a much better composer and that their bassist was a better guitarist than Mana. Does anyone have any opinions on the three different lead singers?

Out of the three, Klaha is my favorite by some distance. I don't think Gackt and Malice Mizer were the best fit for each other-- it was almost too much talent for one band. Tetsu has his own special charm, but he doesn't hold a candle to the other two.

I agree. My opinion is that Klaha had the voice for the gothic sound they were going for but Gackt was really good too. I can't really say which one is better cause' I enjoy both of them. Tetsu had his own charm as well I enjoyed Memoire...really I do.
I adore Klaha's voice. Gackt is a far better composer ill agree with that but Malice Mizer had a sound of thier own brought together with many different personalities.
I miss Yu~ki.....he was the only one who didn't pursue a solo career. For as good of a bassist as he was he could have done something great.

So true. He has a beautiful melodic touch to his playing. I've found that true to a lot of Japanese bassists. I also agree that Tetsu had his own charm, although I hate how Mana half-assed Fur Elise on the song "Baroque" during the Tetsu days.

It's great to see all the Yu-ki love going on here! He really does have a great sense of melody, and his vampire-mime act is a special thing to behold. XP
