Love Stavinsky. Agon and Apollo (not the full name) are two of my favorite pieces (partially due to the Balanchine ballets that introduced Stravinsky to me).

I went through a 2+ year phase in which I listened solely to classical music--the only problem is I never learned what anything was actually called. I find myself recognizing a lot of music, but I can never name it. Or it will be from a ballet and I can see the steps or even do the steps but I won't be able to say if it's Giselle or La Bayadere. It's kind of lame.

Brahms and Wagner would have to be my personal favorite. And I don't know if you'd consider them modern classical but whatever they are, Dead Can Dance is up there in my book as well.

I recently discovered the beauty of "Requiem" by Mozart.

Even better was "Prelude in E Minor" by Chopin
or perhaps "Moonlight Sonata" by Beethoven.

I listen to classical music 6 nights out of the week-I love novels set in the 16, 18, & 19th centuries & the music is great for adding atmosphere to the stories. It also helps mellow me out a bit before bed. There's a reason it's been around for so long...it's neat to listen to!

I like requiems, mozart, aternitas, ligeti campra...ect...for eternity... their is a baroque festival coming to montreal, where I am currently staying with my sultry lover...and it is in the old city... I compose quite a bit on the electric violin it all depends on the mood.
