This is me
Hey. My name is Tamar. I live in a small town and I hate it here. I am the only gothic person in my area. I came to this website to find people that share the same interest that I do.
Music- I don't really listen to a lot of American music. I mostly listen to Japanese music genres like Jrock, Jgoth, and Visual Kei. One of my favorite bands is Malice Mizer. I can't stand any mainstream "goth" music such as Marilyn Manson and Slipknot.
Style- Depends on what I feel like wearing that day.
Friends- I only have a few friends. Like I said, I'm the only gothic girl in my area, so I mostly hang out with the people labled as emo. I do have one hippie friend though. She's cool.
Movies- I like all the Tim Burton movies. Except Coraline. It wasn't really that good. And I know this is weird, but I love Charlie and the Chocolate Factory XD
Books- I really like manga books. Some of my favorite are Vampire Knight, Naruto, and Death Note
Looks- I'm 5'4 (short. I know) and have brown eyes. My skin is pale. Probably because I don't go outside a lot because it's too hot. I have black hair that comes a little past my shoulders. I usually do it in a Visual Kei style. If you don't know what that is then google it. My make up depends on how I feel that day.
Likes- reading, writing, listining to music, hanging out with friends, playing the flute, getting on the Internet, cosplaying in public, doing a lot of random stuff, and discovering something new
Dislikes- Rednecks, narrow-minded people, lables, homophobic people, pop and country music, mainstream music, and people trying to be someone they're not.
Yeah. Um... I really suck at describing myself XD

Tim Burton did not direct Coraline. Henry Selick directed it, just like he directed The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Sorry. Everyone told Tim Burton directed it. All I did was watch the movie and I didn't like it that much.

Well then everyone is stupid. It was advertised that it was directed by "The Director of The Nightmare Before Christmas", which is plainly not burton, or it would have said "Tim Burton's Coraline"

Also, Marilyn Manson and Slipknot aren't mainstream goth. They aren't goth at all.
Welcome anyways and stuff.

I have no idea how many times I've heard people repeat just this.

Hate to break it to you, sugar, but Visual Kei is pretty fucking mainstream.

On behalf of Johnny Cash and Woody Guthrie, fuck you.
Otherwise - I somehow can't see you staying long, but hi anyway.

-Only goff in town? Perhaps you're not looking hard enough. Coffee shops and music stores, pet.
-Blogspot will fix that in a jiffy. Granted, a lot of the stuff they cover is overseas postpunk but they should have some interesting stuff. You're on your own for this one because I don't want to get them in trouble.
-You can really limit yourself with just one subculture for friendship. It's good to have interests outside of them and for the better part, people can surprise you.
-TCM for movies. Especially for Silent Sunday Nights and Pre-Code films. All that Burton touches is not gold, trust me.
-Please don't tell me that manga is all you actually read. If so, get thee to the literature area of your library. Or a used book store. If you must have comics, look for anything from Fantagraphics, Oni Press, Gloom Cookie if you need something that's somewhat of a step up from Twilight. For humor, there's also Japanese Schoolgirl Inferno and advice mixed with some humor, there's Gothic Charm School by Jillian Venters.
-Don't worry so much about being pale and short. It's all in how you work it. And sun protection is your friend when going outside, don't let that limit you. But on the other hand, don't get carried away with optimum paleness. For makeup, you'll love Making Faces by Kevyn Aucoin.
-For likes and dislikes, come on now. For someone into reading and writing, you've got an assload of errors. Not to mention you seem to be narrow-minded yourself for not trying to consider finding friends beyond the ooky-spooky image.

I love you sometimes Lolly.
You say everything I want to say, but nicer and with less hate.
Which I reluctantly will admit is probably a good thing.
