The questionnaire isn't a bad idea. I like it!
1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I'm graduating high school this year, and will be majoring in English and Secondary education. The secondary education degree will be temporary- I want to teach medieval literature at a university. I love reading almost anything, and learning new things. I'm a big movie and T.V fan, and like to have conversations about intelligent things. Sometimes I know what I'm talking about, and sometimes I don't, but the latter only means I'll learn something new, which is always good.
2. Where are you from?
I'm from New Jersey, famous for its rolling hills (landfills) and fragrant toxic waste dumps. I love it for the forests and cedar lakes, though.
3. Who is your favorite author?
Ooh, that's a tough one! I live the Pendergast books by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, even if they're not specifically Gothic. They're intelligent and hard to put down, and are very reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes.
4. What are your favorite films?
My favorite movie by a long shot is V for Vendetta, although I like all genres of film, from Zoolander to (flame away!

) The Craft.
5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
I think I'd want my song to be 'In Your Eyes' by Peter Gabriel. I think it's beautiful.
6. At your funeral?
I'd leave that up to the organizers, so that they can choose a song that reminds them of me. I'm not much of a fan of traditional burial, so I hope that I can be cremated and remembered in a very basic Wiccan ceremony.
7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
From a physical standpoint, any way that's painless! But I think, more than anything, I'd like to die in a situation where I'm sacrificing myself for someone I love, painful or not. Dying in the name of an ideal like freedom of speech or religion at the hands of the government (as sci-fi as it sounds!) might not be bad either.
8. What kind of casket would you want?
I really wouldn't want a casket, as I'd prefer cremation and scattering, preferably in a forest or atop a mountain. If I could have a casket just 'cause, I'd love ebony or mahogany with green silk lining. It'd make a cool dining room table, actually. You can store china in it and everything.
9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
Quite honestly, I'm not a big fan of any of my clothes. They're all sort of generic and boring. If I COULD have a favorite outfit, it would probably be something flowing and beautiful, like a long dress or a black velvet top with a long skirt. I'm a big fan of multiple necklaces too, particulatly quartz, so that would help a lot.
10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
My father used to take me to the Philadelphia Zoo and Franklin Institute every weekend, and I'd learn about science and history. I miss that time with him.
11. What's your favorite band?
I'm not sure I have a favorite band, at least not yet, and I'm not afraid to say so. I'm new to the Gothic subculture, and would not dare to call myself Goth, only interested. I've been listening to different songs and trying out bands. I've really liked what I've heard from Sisters of Mercy (if I listen to Temple of Love one more time I might go crazy, but I think I will in a few minutes anyway!) and Siouxsie and the Banshees (Cities in Dust, 'nuff said!) If you have any suggestions or favorite bands, I'd love to hear them! I'll check it out ASAP!
12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
Bah! I already did this, didn't I? Again, English and Secondary Education. I love the subject matter, and I really feel that I can make young people interested in classic literature. It's a matter of applying it to modern life, so the students won't feel like there's no point in learning it.
13. Why did you join?
Honestly, I wanted to learn more about the Gothic subculture. I hope that I can ask intelligent questions without coming off as a bit of an idiot, and learn from tolerant people here.
14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
I'm female!
