MTV anyone?

Well I searched and found no results...what are your views on MTV?

I hate MTV, it annoys me when they play the same thing over and over and over again.

MTV used to be good, when they had headbangersball on there and metal rules MTV. But now it just plays the same thing over and over again. Fall out boy, AFI, My chemical romance, all the mainstream bands. They get boring after a while.

MTV isn't on the norwegian programme anymore. It used to be. I don't mourn the "loss".

MTV sucks so much ass it should have a Phd. in proctology. I don't watch broadcast television anymore, but from what I remember; not once did I see anything on there remotly related to music during the last 3-4 years. "Real World" and other equally uninteresting and shamelessly pointless 'reality' shows pervade the channel like some debilitating disease. And what's worse? All the other channels follow suit because MTV is the supposed mogul of coolness. Here's to you MTV: *proceeds to kick MTV in the figurative testicles*

MTV2 did have a brief moment of decency when I was flipping in desperation through the music channels a while back...
They played Bauhaus- Ziggy Stardust. Then some kinda Type-O-Negative/69 Eyes goth rock band. Then some half decent thing, Nine Inch Nails I think (and not With Teeth or March of the Pigs). Then it all turned back into horrible rubbish.

The last time I saw anything on this channel was at some house party, and the show wasn't even about music. It was some shit about cars or dating or something else dull. Also that extremely contrived 'reality' show about searching people's rooms. Doubleyoo-tee-eff is all I had to say to that.

And come to think of it, the 'music' shows I've seen on MTV haven't exactly had real music on them either. Hmmm... Do I sense false advertising?

MTV isn't about music any more, though. It's about really bad, sickening pop-culture and promoting stereotypes. Ever noticed that any coloured people on it are doing that "pimpin' gangsta" thing, that really no one does? They've even cut the animations they used to have- the Aeon Flux cartoon series, Daria, Downtown, etc. It's filled with rubbish.

They did. It was about a month ago, probably around 12-2pm UK time, when I was having lunch. I tend to channel surf during lunch.
I almost dropped my just-add-hot-water noodles on my sketchpad in shock. Thankfully I didn't.

Yes, MTV2 does tend to be a little bit better than MTV. Of course I don't get MTV2 anymore, but I still get MTV. In my opinion, MTV sucks really bad. I hate how everything on there has to do with "gangsters" and the "emos" now. It is so much to ask that they play real music???

Emmm.... MTV2 is exactly the same, now. The music is mostly gone. All the enjoyable stuff has faded out to be replaced with whiny britpop or screechy emo. And then the programs revolve around gangstas.

That's sad. The last time I knew they were actually playing something good on there. It's sad, this stuff they can call "music."

Kerrang died a while back, and Scuzz has only flashing glimpses of good music any more, but at least they still play songs all day in their roles as music channels.

Meh I can't stand music channles. But luckily I have Freeview, so all we get is The Hits & TMF. Even so, no-one in my house watches them.

I was wondering if anyone here, watches Redemption TV ?.

They have had some really good bands on over the last few months...

Nightwish

Theatres Des Vampires

NFD

Bloody Mary

Cathedral

My Dying Bride

Killing Joke

and many more...

I think its probably the best music channel on satellite at the moment !!!

Hadn't even heard of it. It doesn't appear to be on UK Satellite. I shall perhaps watch it online some time.

It is? How odd... that's only a little after Scuzz.
Ah, but they have been reorganising channels again and playing silly beggars with numbering, so it's little surprise I missed it. I shall look in the morning, as I have things to do tonight.

Thankee kindly... little wonder I missed it, as my family tend to possess the satellite television from 8pm every night, leaving me to the internet or reorganisation of my music for the nth time.
