Literature Please come visit. People get upset, write poetry about it, and post it here. Sometimes we also talk about books. |

Wheel of Time anyone?
Anyone a fan? I'm like halfway through the ridiculously immense series.

I read the first one in high school! I remember I liked it but everyone else hated it. And oddly enough I was thinking about it the other day, when it was talking about other dimensions and how to make short cuts using a string analogy. I don't remember much else.

It gets better from the first book. You should get back into it. I actually thought you'd be one of the people who liked it on here.

I've heard of it, I had a group of friends in high school absolutely obsessed with the series. What is the general plot?

I love the WoT. The story definitely gets better after the first book and there are some very clever twists to the plot that you don't always pick up on the first time you read. That said, there are plenty of things that are fairly obvious and don't take much to work out but it doesn't detract from the story as a whole I don't think. I've re-read all 12 books currently out in preparation for the 13th one.

Wrinkle in Time is good, but not as good as Wheel.
