1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I'm a creative writing student at uni. Besides writing, i read alot, play guitar and fiddle (just started at fiddle) go on online forums, watch tv, eat food, you know, the usual

2. Where are you from?
I live in Bath, south west uk.

3. Who is your favorite author?
I like lots of writers, but i tend to prefer dark fantasy, fantasy, sci-fi and horror. I am particularily fond of Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice, Dracula, LoTR, HP Lovecraft, Neil Gaiman and horror short stories in general. Anything that's stylish and bizzare with a good dose of creepy and Romantic thrown in will do me. Oh, and i have thing for vampires.

I am also a big fan of Laurell k. Hamilton's Anita Blake series for which i hang my head in shame.

4. What are your favorite films?
I enjoyed Nightmare Before Christmas, Queen of the Damned, Interview with a Vampire, Blood Ties, After Dark, The Lost Boys, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Elvira Mistress of the Night (are you sensing a pattern here?) LoTR (my favourite was The Two Towers) But i'll watch anything once...well nearly anything!

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?

Live music, a local band or people I know.

6. At your funeral?

Organ Music. Lots of thrashing chords and bass.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
Aged 115 in my sleep.

8. What kind of casket would you want?

None. Maybe just a white winding sheet, have told my faimly this yet though!

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?

I love corsets and slinky dresses and long, shiny black boots, but as I have neither the figure nor the stamina for these things, its usually jeans and layers of black tops. With maybe a leather jacket, or long coat. And boots, I love boots! I used to where lots of studs and collars, a hundred plus silver and black necklaces, things like that but over the years i've slowly lost all that. *sigh*
If I had to choose one item of clothing though, it would be a long coat of black velvet.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?

Having no responsibilities.

11. What's your favorite band?

I like all sorts of music, everything from Classical and Folk, I really love folk, to Led Zepplin and Black Sabbath. The only music I never really been able to get on with is hip hop/R & B and Dance music. Just not my thing.

Lyrics, imagery and mood are more important to me then band names or artists. Some of my favourites are 'Moon over Bourbon Street by Sting' 'Love Song for a Vampire by Annie Lennox, 'Stroke of Luck' by Garbage, 'Into the Shadows' by The Rasmus, 'Childe the Hunter' by Seth lakeman and the 'Queen of the Damned' soundtrack.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?

I'm a mature student doing a BA in Creative Writing hoping to be in the not to distant future a published writer.

13. Why did you join?

After spending much of my life as the 'only goth in the village' i thought it was about time I met up with some other like minded people.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
I is female.

yours M.Velvet.

Haha, you mentioned both spectrums of what I love and hate in the movies and literature.
Welcome to the forums.

I was originally starting to purse my lips and frown at this post, but then I saw Neil Gaiman and it saved you.

So hearts!

You don't like H.P. Lovecraft and Tolkien either?

'Tis far better to be the village goth than the village idiot, I would say.

Welcome to the boards, Morphia!

Meh, unlike you, my lips are still pursed.

Even so, welcome to the forums.
