Man found gagged, bound and beaten - claims he did it to himself
DAYTON - A man found bound, gagged, beaten and soaked in gasoline inside a vehicle told authorities he did it all to himself, the police chief said Friday.
Dayton police found the man Tuesday after a neighbor called to report a sport utility vehicle parked in the back yard of a historic house.
An officer saw the man bound with duct tape and gagged, so the officer smashed a window to get inside and then smelled gasoline, police said.
The man, whom police did not identify, was taken to a hospital, where he was initially reported in critical condition and later upgraded to serious.
Police said they did not know the man's motives
Okay...WHAT? If he was at all capable of actually binding himself with duct tape, I'd say definite suicide attempt.

That is..um.. strange, to say the least. It most likely sounds like suicide attempt to me, but you never know..

It sounds intriguing. If it's not him that did it (and I'm kind of doubting it was), what is being held over his head to make him say it was him?

Whisper, do you have MSN? I've been meaning to talk to you about my garden, but I haven't wanted to threadjack.

That sounds more like something along the lines of "divulge any information and we'll throw you in a woodchipper" sort of thing than anything else. >_>

No, I dont have MSN right now. My old computer had issues with it, and i have not installed it on the new one. If you want to email, whispertwist@**********
Or if other people would be interested, perhaps a thread in General would be ok?

Actually, you're right. Could have been mob discipline, with a threat of lighting him up the next time.

That doesn't sound like ANY kind of sex play I've heard of. And those of us in the BDSM scene would never do anything like that no matter how much the surrogate begged and pleaded. If it puts a person in an obvious high risk situation- then there's nothing more to discuss about it. It just WON'T be done.
If the person did "do it to himself", I'm guessing A) he has some sort of serious background regarding his mental health B) convinced some stupid friends go help him out in this C) probably wanted to commit suicide or D) is trying to cover for some shady dealings he's found himself on the short end of.

Noone can gag and bind themselves with ducttape... it sounds more like who ever did it to him has something of value to him so he will not tell the police whats really going on.

They'd have to scare him pretty bad for him to say that he did it himself. I guarantee you that they consider his mental health to be non-existant (I mean, who wouldn't?) So he's probably stuck in an institution somewhere. Therapy at least. I kind of feel sorry for the poor bastard.

I doubt they'll put him straight in the institution... therapy definitely, though. I bet the police have seen their share of ass-covering before. They have to know that who ever did this did to him probably did it because the man f*cked up pretty badly. I bet he'll tell them about it later.

I do know someone that can duct tape himself.
If that is the scenario that he actually did do it to himself or it was a consensual abduction scene, thus him not telling who did it to him, adding the gasoline was a bit much and very dangerous.

Maybe he has multiple personality and was kind of in a struggle with his I-love-ducktape-and-the-smell-of-gassoline side at the time.

“Listen up, buster, cross us again and next time this will be a Car-B-Q.” Blows out match.

You definitely could. It would just depend on the order you did everything.

(laughs) Car-B-Q. (laughs some more)
Seriously, that was great.
Anyway, I'm in agreement with this theory: Dumbass crossed the mob the wrong way and they threatened to burn him up.
(snorts)
