Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Songs That Make You Think About Sex (there we go)
We were discussing songs that make one sad, and the discussion shifted curiously to songs that make one think about sex, so I thought a whole thread devoted to that subject would be rather groovy.
Here's my two cents:
A lot of Bjork songs
a lot of the Radiohead songs off Amnesiac
The Glove
The following Cure songs: "Like Cockatoos" The early LSD-riddled Cure B-Sides that have that playful/trippy/weirdly sexual tone to them (as well as "Love Cats"), "Torture", "All I Want", "The Snakepit"
Placebo's "Taste In Men"
PJ Harvey's "Long Snake Moan"
A lot of Depeche
Portishead
umm....other stuff that currently escapes me.
Et tu?

World in my Eyes - The Cure
Walking in Space - Hair (the musical)
I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of them at the moment.

A lot of Dresden Dolls songs do.
Combichrist. Electronic songs with heavy bass and drums usually do it.

'Black Madonna' by Theatre of Hate kinda makes me want to scrog. As well as 'Suffer' by Screams for Tina, 'En Hiver' by Cinema Strange, and 'Horse on the Moor' by the Deadfly Ensemble for some reason. On top of all of that, most anything by Samhain. That Glenn Danzig sure loves sex.

Your Best Nightmare, The Bondage Song, and This Paradise by London After Midnight. God! How I love that band.
Just Like Heaven by The Cure is clearly sexual.
And Tchaikovsky's Russian Dance. I have a theory that it represents the build up of an orgasm.

Pretty much anything Dresden Dolls, "Peek-a-boo" and "Venus In Furs": Siouxsie and the Banshees, "Sodomy" from "Hair" (I wonder, will that be censored?), "Goth Club": London After Midnight (can't help it with that lady in the intro) and... umm... I forgot the title of the song... anyway...
Edit: it wasn't... Anyway, the other song's a Manson song. Anyone know the one I'm thinking of? I still can't remember the title. Now it starts to get kind of annoying that I don't...

If it's that lady having an orgasm, then it's Your Best Nightmare.

Yep, pretty much anything by Danzig, "Dirty Black Summer" for some reason, and "I'm Evil". I also really like "Sistinas". I had forgotten how much I used to adore Danzig.

There are few songs that remind me of sex. They don't even lyrcially have to do anything with sex, but just the beat makes me think of it from some of them.
Bjork:
-Bachelorette
-All is Full of Love
-Pagan Poetry
The Cure:
-Lullaby
-Fascination Street
Robots in Disguise:
-Turn it Up
Scarling:
-Alexander The Burn Victim
KMFDM:
-Professional Killer
I don't know what it is about some songs. I think I find certains sounds very seductive. Is it just me or does anyone else think sex when listening to these songs? It could very well be just me.
