Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Soooo.... Joan Jett and The Black Hearts.
You guys like them?
I do. I got "Sinner" about a year ago and started listening to it again. It's catchy.

I like the Blackhearts, especially their cover of "Crimson and Clover." Joan has a good catalogue of solid hits. Have you heard her other band, the Runaways?

Absofuckinglutely I love Joan Jett! When my friend invited me to a karoake party, I sung the hell out of "I Love Rock and Roll".
Her Runaways stuff is really cool too, but I think she's best with the Blackhearts. "Crimson and Clover", "Roadrunner", "Sinner", "Little Liar", "Bad Education", and their covers of "Do You Wanna Touch Me There" and "Love Hurts" are among the most consistently played songs in my playlist.
My one regret is that I missed her set when she was down here for the Warped tour. It would have made my day just to meet her.
Another awesome thing about Joan is that she's aged really well. Not too many near-fifty year olds can rock a bikini onstage like she does.

Listening to Crimson and Clover right now! It's just a shame that there's been so much drama surrounding her and her old band, The Runaways.

"I Hate Myself For Loving You" is my favorite song in the world. Joan Jett kicks major ass.

Love her, but kind of on a vacation from her. Last time I listened to her, it was not by choice as the hotel I was staying at in Vegas was blasting her music morning, noon and night on account of she was going to be performing there sometime soon.

I have...I Love Rock N' Roll. It's...ok. I'm not that into Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. "Bad Reputation" isn't on this one but that's probably my favorite songs (if it's by) from her. On this album, there are some good tunes. "Crimson and Clover", "Nag", and "Oh, woe is me" are my favorites.
Did she write her own material or was it all mostly covers? Cause the album I have is mostly full of covers so I was always wondering that...

Man, I remember Joan Jett and the Black Hearts way back in the late 80's. I love her songs "I Love Rock N' Roll" and "I Hate Myself for Loving you".
I recall back in 1987 she also acted in a movie with Michael J. Fox in "Light of Day". She did pretty good there too.

My point of reference on her is pretty dated, as in "early 80s" with I Love Rock & Roll & all that. That said, she IS quite easy on the eyes still.

I love Joan Jett! I was a bit dismayed when she buzzed her hair and dyed it blonde.

I've yet to meet someone who doesn't like "I Love Rock 'N' Roll", at least..
