Bethlehem is my favorite metal band. For those of you who haven't heard of them, they were a German black/death/doom group that release three albums in the mid-1990s that were revolutionary in the extreme metal scene. Since then, they've changed stlyes and become "New German Hardness" (they kind of sound like Rammstein now), but that doesn't matter.
Bethlehem is considered to be the creator of the "dark metal" genre, which combines elements of black metal with death/doom.
They are know for their versatile singers (each of the three "classics" had a different singer) and their songwriting skills. A lot of Bethlehem's music involves drastic mood changes throughout songs.
Blah blah blah sorry for the bio. Just trying to set the mood or whatever.
