My Kingdom for a...
Horse.
Hello all, obviously I am going by Calypso- the name of my lovely Arabian mare. I'm not really an expert on introductions, or even that creative when it comes to them (insomnia + 3:30 AM+ general blah =/= creative juice flowing), so I'll just be generic. =P
1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I primarily horse back ride, train horses (devoted to equines), other exercise because I am trying to get fit, draw (digital mostly, though I am apparently good at traditional)
2. Where are you from?
East coast, US.
3. Who is your favorite author?
Don't have one in particular.
4. What are your favorite films?
I don't have any in particular.
5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
I have quite a few genres in mind, but not any specific songs besides Comfort Eagle by Cake and Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt by We Are the Scientists
6. At your funeral?
Not sure yet, I don't even really want a funeral, but others may want it for closure.
7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
I don't want it to be long, painful, and otherwise drawn out. I don't know if I want to die young or old. Decidedly, I will stop living when my body is too broken to keep on doing what I love (drawing, painting, primarily being active in the horse world).
8. What kind of casket would you want?
I want to be crememated and have my ashes spread, I don't want to be anywhere near a casket. People spend their whole lives in boxes, no sense rubbing it in by spending your death in one.
9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
Don't have one yet.
10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
All the free money thrown my way because people thought I was just so damn precious.
11. What's your favorite band?
Don't have one in particular, I go by the music and not the band (though right now I do admit I am liking Otep and Echo Slightly- then there's always Imogen Heap).
12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
I'm an itty-bitty highschooler, handle me with care. =P
13. Why did you join?
Initially, to see if there were any extra pirks beside posting to being a member. Right now I am just checking out what how a goth board differs from more mainstream and eclectic boards. I'm also interested in seeing just how accepting and creative this board is in relation to my impression of goth.
14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Female. =3

If you don't mind me asking, what is your typical style of dress?

Honestly? It's the summer and I spend so much time at the barn it isn't worth it to have too many fancy clothes (picture dirty animals half a ton in weight that spend all day rolling around and wallowing in dirt and mud, walking around in their own feces, etc...). So typically I wear boots, jeans, and a tee, sometimes a hat.
School is starting soon, so I plan on investing in boots I can wear to school (not worth the effort to wear one pair to both barn and school, it is so much work to get the stink out), I want more decorative tees and shirts for school as well, and will invest in some black jeans (I can't live without my jeans, lol). I doubt anyone will catch me in a skirt except for halloween. I will probably be getting a lot more lighter/white tees than your typical goth, as my skin is darker and I find they look better than black.
Does that help?

Indeed. :3 The boots you're considering for school, what style are they?

I picked these boots:
I am not a fan of anything that goes too far above my ankle, I also think I would kill myself in something with too much heel. Plus I am lazy, so I wanted something I could still wear to the barn, ride in, and jog in if I took Calypso for a walk on foot. I am admittedly not big on too much flare, I am a simple girl who just wants something that will fit on my foot and be functional.
Er, I'd submit a link, but apparently I am too new, lol. The boot can be found on the site pinupshoes and is called "Black Leather Combat (GRAVEL-14)".

Nice choice. ^-^ I usually prescribe to Demonia as well, but I currently have the plaid knee-high Creepers. :3

Now those look interesting. I'd still kill myself in them though, I'm just the incarnation of grace when elevated!

*giggle* I apparently have an ungodly sense of equilibrium, compared to the many who have tried on my boots. :3

LOL, lucky you. I bet I wouldn't be prone to tripping if I actually stepped higher than I normally do (toe dragger), and I suppose being slightly pigeon toed can't help. Ah well, logic-logic. If a time comes when I buy a pair like that, I'll be doing a lot of practice at home before I go out in the light of day. =P
I keep wondering if I should have bought another riding boot instead of those demonias, but in the end what I got from pinup is cheaper, shipping included. But still, my riding boots are pretty (when they've been shined). Ariat performer III in black. ^^

Aha. Must be difficult to find a local supplier. So yes, online ordering would financially be the best choice. Do you have plans to move?

I will be staying in this state for quite a while unless a job opportunity indicates otherwise. I'd love to get accepted into this Arabian apprenticeship program at a pretty prestigious ranch in AZ, but otherwise I have no plans to move until I am financially able to afford a property in an area considered to be "horse country." That and no sales tax doesn't hurt.

I could never live in AZ permanantly, no offense to the natives. Sure, the 100+ degree weather isn't so bad without humidity, but... it's so dry. @__@; And not really my idealistic horse scenario. I'd love to live in Colorado or someplace like that.

You'll be in for a shocker depending on where you move. DE doesn't typically go past 100, but the HUMIDITY is deadly. @_@ Where do you plan on moving?

Vegas in the next few months. And I've done plenty of travel, so I've felt the spectrum of climates. Hell, I was born halfway on the other end of the world. :3
