trying to understand

I am not trying to whine here....This not whine more trying to understand..I dont get why it matters so much to some people...if their loved if they belong? Or why others feel they haft let everyone know they dislike them. I am not picking sides...I never been any where were it matter that much how people felt.. I know words can be painful.. nasty statements can be hurtful...what dose it matter...if you belive in what you posted...then no one can take that from you...No matter what they say...

I am just trying to understand...Not everyone will argee with you...but that is the point of this to look from some one else view and see new ways to what you belived...you dont haft to accpect it...whatever it is....but you shouldn't let it hurt you either.... My point is I am trying to understand why everyone feels so so strongly about what others say about them.

Some people are insecure and have a need for approval, others are too nice for their own good and will do whatever it takes to avoid hurting others, some people are simply conflict avoidant, and as Steppenwolf said not everyone cares.

Validation only comes through association.

In regards to posting: some people take this forum too seriously (myself included from time to time). It's funny: I had a life before I ever found this place, but now that I have, I post here almost everyday. But I always try to keep it in perspective. It is a place to have fun exchanging ideas and opinions and humor but I always try to remember it is a low, low priority compared to my real life.

It's not so much needing approval, but that other's thoughts of you are like a funhouse mirror. It's a way you never thought to see yourself, a warped way, or a way that may be more true to the actual object... but still a grain of truth to all of it.

I do pay attention to what others say about me. But that does not mean that I care too much or too little about it. It can be a good gage for not who you are but how you are perceived. A real eye opener.

But to care too little is to live a self-absorbed lie. To care too much is to disregard your own experience.
