20 Eye combat boots.
I'm thinking of getting some 20 eye combats, (something like this : http://www.militarykit.com/products/...yelet_boot.htm ), but wanted get a couple of opinions first:
Do they look good on guys? Or are they a little too high-leg to suit the male figure (bearing in mind I'm not hugely skinny, not overweight either, just not got the right frame to be a stick insect.)
How high exactly do they go? I can find a lot of pictures of the boots, but none of them being worn.
And finally, for those who have bought/considered buying some. Where's the cheapest place to get 'em from? (Online or otherwise.)

I much prefer 14 or 10 hole boots. Go to oxbloodoi.com, he has a good selection of new and used boots, mainly for punks or skins, but there is always something good there. They go about just below the knee, I'm not too positive on that though.

Cheers. And Punk boots are good. I'm interested in enough Punk music/subculture to appreciate that punks have very nice boots.:P

Those will hit just below the knee on an average person. Personally I think they tend to look a bit odd on anyone who doesn't have a feminine and/or slender figure so I would recommend the 14 hole instead of the 20 (but that is just my opinion). You could try and find a place where you could try them on but I don't know what you have in your area.

I have a couple of pairs of 14-eye boots, so I'll post pictures to see what people think 20's would look like. I'll post pictures later/tomorrow.

I'm really skinny, so 20 hole look decent on me, But the thing is I need tight jeans in order for them to look ok. I don't like that weird poofy thing you get on your knee if your wearing pants that are a bit loose. But they normally should look ok on anyone imho. Unless your a bit on the big side.
Also, the doc 20's tend to be a BIT shorter than demonia's 20's from my experience. but not like it matters.

I agree, if one is going to tuck pants into boots then one should be wearing skinny jeans or pants of a similar cut

I usually wear skinny-ish jeans for the "poofy knee" thing.
This is me (the only full body shot I have):

Don't know if I'm too heavily built for 20 eyes or not, so some advice would be useful.

Thanks I was thinking of getting some of the boots that zip off to various heights. A bit pricey but I quite like the way they look, and at least I know they'll zip to something that looks good on me.

The Demonia ones? They have a habit of zippers breaking. It's all hit and miss with demonia. They either last a long time or they break in 3 months. Go for something more sturdy unless you ever catch them on sale or something for less than 5o or 60 bucks. I myself so far have had good luck, but I wouldn't take the risk anymore after knowing people who's boots have gone to shit.

Are these what you're talking about? Slink has a few different pairs under unisex (maybe more under mens idk) and Slink has just about the best prices on boots (and I have never had a problem ordering through them)

Yep, and pleaser is affiliated with demonia isn't it? It's worth it for that price. Other places put them up at 80-100+ or similar.

I believe that Demonia is a line by Pleaser but I am not 100% sure. Yeah Slink does tend to have amazing prices and a very wide selection, I'm very happy that I happened upon it about a year ago

I have 20 eyelet dms, but they are the steel toe ones. I love mine, but they are a pain 'cause it takes forever for me to lace them up. I think they look good with anything on anyone, really. I can't wait till summer when I can wear them with nylons and a dress, all grunge style.

Dude, I gots some 20 eye Riot 20's by demonia. I love them, and I look amazing. Yes, the zipper broke, but if you don't like lace them up TOO tightly you should be fine in theory.

Hold on, I've got some boots that are either 20 or pretty close, they're some random brand that I found at Hot Topic (Be quiet my pair before got the toilet, quite literally) and they look pretty good. I am very, very thin though, but I could find a picture to demonstrate height wise what they look like.

Ok, I know I'm double posting and all, but this shocked me. First 6'13"?!?! Oh my god, you're tall. And I'm 5'3 1/2" and my boyfriend's around 6 feet, give or take, 2 inches taller with his boots of doom, and we have a hard enough time with just that height difference. How do you do it?

I think that he is 6' at thirteen, almost fourteen, years of age (6'13" should be written be 7'1"), that being said I think he is quite a bit taller than average for his age
