Hey everyone, my name's Michael. I live in Perth, Western Australia and I work in fast-food, soon to be driving trucks. I don't classify myself as goth; perhaps a while ago but I'm a little older now, I know who I am and I have my own little niche on this planet which is unique to me.
I haven't read any fiction for a long time, these days it's mostly non-fiction. I like learning new things and am interested in para/psychology, astrology, human biology. Other hobbies are music, poetry, writing, driving very fast, boxing and getting tattoos.
I like arthouse films like Eternal Sunshine, American Beauty, Punch-Drunk Love etc. I also enjoy a good comedy, my favourites being Anchorman and Supertroopers.
I don't know what music I want played at my wedding, got to find the right girl first
Music at my funeral: something which makes people think about who I was but also that life is there for the taking. Dare I say 'Highway Star' by Deep Purple? A little unorthodox but live fast and have a ball.
I'd like to die in my old age in my sleep. No gradiose or romantic notions of death here, it is what it is. I don't like the idea of my body rotting in the ground inside a piece of wood so cremation and scattered ashes into the wind for me thankyou very much.
My favourite outifit is jeans, thongs (flip-flops for those outside Aus) and a nice shirt. Whatever's comfortable, the climate doesn't suit all-black.
One thing I really miss about being a kid is being able to speak honestly and impressionably and be heard. I think people lose that quality as they grow older; no one's really interested in feeling anymore, let alone showing it.
My favourite band is The Cure. I also like The Beatles, Floyd, Opeth, Bowie, QOTSA, Radiohead, Oasis, SOAD, Tool, Nirvana, Interpol, Joy Division and more...alternative, progressive, whatever.
I have secondary school completion and tertiary education in classical music and retail. I would like to go back to university in a few years time to study psychology.
I joined to share my poetry. I also wouldn't mind some decent conversation with people who think a little more philosophically about life.
Thankyou for reading and I hope to get to know many of you
