Cyber hair for guys?
Hiya I'm a guy
NOT A GIRL
(lol remember?)
Anyways I was wondering could anyone advise me on the sort of hair that cybergoth guys would have? Not so much falls, but still I'd be all for putting plastic, foam etc in my hair.
Something like the likes of Servo.Hatred, XP8 etc. Not OVERLY mad, coz I wouldn't want to get my head kicked in lol But still, show me anything.
I'm not fussy so basically any ideas/pics of cyber hair on guys would be greatly appreciated :}

How long is your hair? I would suggest using an assortment of foam, wire protector, various plastic tubing (i.e air tubing), rexlace, etc. A good place to start would be to pick up some foam and rexlace from your local craft store, and then make a trip to an auto parts store. You can find some fairly useful stuff there. You can also add in some crin (which is extremely light), but you need to order it online and can be a bit pricey. Another thing to consider would be to accent your falls with a few synth dreads here and there.
Might want to pick up a hole puncher, scissors, rulers, and assorted tools to aid you in your creation.
There was a link I recommended to Kontan, but forget what it is now. Perhaps he still has it, and can share it with you.
Good luck

Thank you for that wealth of information! I'll be sure to look into all of the suggested ideas.
Unfortunately, my hair's quite short, so I doubt it could take a lot of work :/

(my apologies for the horrendus state of the pic but it was the only recent one I had on my PC)
Its that long. About 3 or 4 inches.
I might just bleach my hair and dye it some mad colors like neon green + pink I just hate bleaching my hair.

Kontan has shorter hair too. He used weft clips. Chealsea girl could also give you some alternative ideas using certain hair clips, but we'll see if either respond.
Have a good night.

Oh dear lord not the hawk :/ Seems quite overdone.
And as I'm very feminine the shaved head look just makes me look like a cancer patient. (I had my head shaved before)

Pretty pricey though with their £26 price tag. Thats $51 for all you yanks XP and €38 for me. (Well my uncle who bought them for me).
But I heard cy-x do the same ones cheaper.

Ooh, you're pretty. Please don't take this the wrong way, but you remind me of Peter Pan crossed with Shirley Manson.

Thanks for the info on the goggles. I think I will stick to my original plan of making them. I have no patience for waiting for something to be shipped.

OK, damn it. CYBERFALLS! YES! Love them. Love them love them, love them.
Check it out. Your hair doesn't have to be plastic to be cyber. Think sleek, think metallic, think smart looking.
Recently, I had a friend cornrow some faux hair into my head and I had 4 big cornrows in my head with SILVER plastic like string braided into it. It looked awesome AND was still androginys.
Weft clips. I stand by them all the time. They will be your friend. You can weft some fake hair on to your head to make buns out of so that you can actually MOUNT some cyberfalls on your head like girls do. That's what I would do. Weft clips are VERY strong and can hold a hell of a lot of weight.
Check out this pic:
http://a152.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...a0290b89ef.jpg
Those are my cyber falls. I slick my hair tightly back with gel, let it dry, and then place them in with the weft.
BTW, it's cool to meet another person with a bit of a Steam crush about them.
For your hair color, I would recommend things in colors of Orange, Brass, Copper, and accented with Black. That would just look SO gorgeous.

Sounds like rexlace, or some type of variant.
I'm considering picking up some light gold, and copper crin to make a set of stempunk-esq falls to humour my bf, since he's all about the "Victorian past that wasn't"

Thank you very much! That was a great help to me .
I might do that. (Put weft clips in, attatch falls and sweep them back with goggles)
And the colors you suggested sound great and are something I'd never have thought about.
Also, neon green's my favourite color and to have falls in that color would be awesome. Would it suit me though do you think?
And I might bleach my hair anyway for versatility.

Oh my... I have yet another favorite member.
Neon green might work for you. I'm not sure. Actually, I must admit, I have a hard time not focusing most of my attention on your eyes. 0_o

TBH I'll probably just get hair wefts and a load of plastic shit and tubing, foam etc and mess around with my hair.

This is what I'm talking about when it comes to cornrows with a bit of silver. You probably wont see the silver though.

Kontan plays nice with most
It's hard to see the silver in this photo, but from what I can tell, it looks like rexlace. easily obtainable and relatively inexpensive.
I have a roll of black, glow-in-the-dark, red, silver, and clear. I'll probably pick up some green once my order of hair, tubing, and crin arrives.
