Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Help me in finding new music? :D
I'm starting to get pretty tired with my music right now, but I'm just so fucking picky! I'm primarily looking for a metal band with alot of classical influences, but nothing like progressive metal. The best example I can give is Moi Dix Mois (my favourite band). Lots of organ, harpsichord, violin, etc. I've heard a few good things, but it all tends to keep that very unorganized 80's garage metal band sound, at least I think.
And while on the topic, does anyone know of any good goth dance music? Possibly something similar to Schwarz Stein? Something with a very techno background (not too industrial or EBM, just pure dance) and a good dark, gothic sound?
Thanks in advanced

For the basis in techno without being too industrial or EBM might be VNV nation. They're the best that I can think of right now.

Yeah, they're okay, I recently got into Blakq Audio which is the closest I can find, but still not completely what I'm looking for, thanks though

Nothing like what you described, but check out anything by Mike Patton.

Hmmmm would Emilie Autumn be too industrial for you? She's quite dancy. Or perhaps Switchblade Symphony? And I'd really suggest VNV Nation, especially the whore FuturePerfect album. That has many classical influences to it :]
Oh and Massiv In Mensch are pretty much just dance music with a gothic feel to it. Very club-orientated stuff.

Emilie Autumn, since you like Moi Dix Mois, since I think they're under the same label (Tristol, right?). Jack Off Jill (they broke up, but their music is amazing), Mindless Self Indulgence, She Wants Revenge, You Say Party! We Say Die!, Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer, My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds To Mars, Sick Puppies, Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, Die Warzau, and Bread and Water.

Great picks. And if you like Jack Off Jill you should check out Scarling, since it's the same singer :-)
