Madrigal
My name's Travis, although practically everyone I know calls me "Madrigal", thus my real name's fairly useless.
I got an add on Myspace for this place and just decided to join on a whim.
Most everything about me is already on here.
http://www.myspace.com/madrigal9
I assure you, very few of you, if any, will like me.
But I'm just fine with that.

Well, even if you don't care if we like you (which often indicates that you will choose not to be pleasant), Welcome anyway, I guess.

*Shrug*
Just being realistic.
And no, I'm never unpleasant on purpose.
I'm not hard to get along with, I just have an extremely low tolerance towards certain topics.

If you want any of us to actually care, you should at least answer the introductory questions. I think I'm kind of interfering with the mods' job. Sorry if I did.
Anyways, welcome Madrigal.

Ah well, I tend to expect the worse.
In the event, for some reason I'm banned or everyone hates me, I can say "Well, at least I was right"
BUT if I do get along with a few people I can think "That went better than I thought."

Here's some questions you can answer about yourself if you feel like it.
It helps everyone get a better sense of what you're all about..
1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
2. Where are you from?
3. Who is your favorite author?
4. What are your favorite films?
5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
6. At your funeral?
7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
8. What kind of casket would you want?
9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
11. What's your favorite band?
12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
13. Why did you join?
14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Welcome to Gnet..

Alright. I wasn't aware it was something mandatory, just assuming it more of a general guidline that I thought would have been answered more in-depth in my link.
But alright.
"1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)"
Writing mainly.
"2. Where are you from?"
North Carolina. It's bad here.
"3. Who is your favorite author?"
H.P. Lovecraft.
"4. What are your favorite films?"
Conan The Barbarian. Ballad of a soldier (B&W Russian film) the Devil's backbone. Unforgiven.
"5. What music do you want played at your wedding?"
I've never particularly thought of it.
Though I'd think that under those circumstances that sincere words spoken between yourself and your bride/groom would be much more meanigful than music.
"6. At your funeral?"
I'm not sure I'd feel that music would be appropriate.
Although I like the idea of certain parts of Green Carnation's "Light of Dayt, Day of Darkness" playing.
"7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?"
Making a difference.
"8. What kind of casket would you want?"
Viking funeral.
MAke sure to burn all my stuff so no one else gets it.
"9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?"
Leather pants, tactical knee pads, band shirt, spiked gauntlets, baphomet necklace.
"10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?"
Practically everything.
Mostly I'd say the ability to actuall live an entire day in your own imagination without the external influences of others which is much more difficult to do as you become older.
"11. What's your favorite band?"
That's hard to answer. But as for consistantcy I'd go with Ulver's first three albums.
"12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?"
I was home schooled.
Creative writing/english
"13. Why did you join?"
I wanted to reply to the "Werewolf" thread.
"14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?"
Male.

I just tend to do away with pleasantries on message boards.
In person I'm usually rather polite. (Because if you're going to say/do something, do it with class)
One quote that always stuck with me since childhood...
"He was never more sinister than when he was most polite, which is probably the truest test of breeding; and the elegance of his diction, even when he was swearing, no less than the distinction of his demanour, showed him as one of a different cast from his crew."

When I said your answer made ma laugh, I meant it in a good way. It wasn't stupid, just honest, and I like honesty.

Madrigal, you don't have to get your back up just because you're in new territory. We're not here to bark at you for being new. As long as you're not an intolerant jerk, we should all get along just fine.
Welcome, come run with the pack.

I've gotta say, I was worried for a bit as I read your introduction. Intolerance is never an attractive trait. And proposing the self-fulfilling prophecy "In the event, for some reason I'm banned or everyone hates me, I can say "Well, at least I was right", is just asking for trouble. The folks here (by and large) are reasonable people and would not hate or ban you unless you did something overt to deserve it. In which case you would not be "right"; you'd be a guy who said "I'm gonna ask for trouble" and then got it.
Then I read down to further posts and found myself warming up to you. My family throws a reunion every two years on a beach in NC, and it is a wonderful time. But I can imagine living there full time is not that much fun. I like the "making a difference" comment too.
What's not to like about spiked gauntlets! I like the Barrie quote, and especially appreciate the sentiment about speaking and acting with class.
Madrigal, welcome to Gnet! I look forward to your contributions.

Welcome; as you maneuver around the site I look forward to seeing what you find worth the time to respond to. That's a better way to get to know someone in an online arena than any damn myspace account, imo.
^^ Note the pun!
I'll read ya later, kid.

Hi Madrigal. Like the name. You seem a fair enough kind of chap to me. Look forward to hearing more from you.

I see you're a satanist. LaVeyan satanist, I presume? And well informed about what satanism is, am I right?
