I have heard of or seen goths..
In North, South and Central America, in Austrailia, in East Asia and Russia, in all of Europe, and South Africa.
But I have never heard of them in the other places in Africa, or Arabia, Arab countries in Asia, or the Indian subcontinent. Neither the Pacific Islands (But if there were we probably wouldn't know about them..).
Do they exist? Pictures?

I don't know... but I did notice that you've put an extra 'i' in Australia.

I guess there are some, but in many of these countries you mentioned, Islam is the major religion, so it would probably be quite difficult for them to dress in a gothic way in public. Or so I believe. Mind, I've never been outside Europe, so I don't know.

By East Asia I assume you mean Japan. The rest of Asia has extremely few goths. I know of a handful in Thailand, and only myself in Malaysia, and most of us are expatriates from Australia and North America anyway so we don't really count. However there has been an insurgence of a gothic ****** sort of style recently, although there's no music or literature attached it and it's only really a fashion statement.
In Arab countries it's only in public that women wear the hijab. At home and underneath their black cloakings they wear some rather amazing outfits, although I doubt any are gothic. Goth depends on a liberal society to thrive, and strict Muslim countries don't always have that. I live in a fairly liberal Islamic country though, so I get by with what I wear perfectly well.

I know there are many goths in Turkey...but Turkey isn't all that strikt on Islam as other arabian countries and I suppose they would want to be considered Europe anyway. But I was slightly surprised when i found out.
In any way, I suppose there are goths anywhere, but they are always culture-specific. European-goth styled goths would not be natural in non-european countries.
For example, the russian-goths mostly disappoint me because they try being way too western instead working their own culture into their style.
So if you want goths from other parts of the world, you have to look at other specifics other than the typical european ones like the looks and music.

well, i come from dubai and you will be quite surprised by the number of goths there, they are there its just there is no "scene" or things to do for them so they just hang around in a candle lit room and write poetry (in arabic ofcourse).
when it comes to fashion they cant buy anything that suites their taste, so they go creative with their own clothes which i think looks wicked cool :-)
they pretty much listen to the same thing everybody does, they do love emilie autumn alot and her song marry me since it relate alot to the marriage conditions at their home but you always come by those metal heads who call them selfs goths and ruin it for everybody.
in the end their just so afraid of being judged and bashed by a very paranoid Society that they just hide away from it, but belive me just pick up the rock next to you and you will find a very kind and intelligent people that you will love :-)
feel free to ask me questions

Scarwall - please introduce yourself in the introductions board. Also, even though your post was very informational, please refrain from resurrecting old threads, especially when the one asking has been inactive on the forum for a very long time. Thank you.

I saw this metal band in Camden once, along the same vein as Cradle O' Filth. They were from Dubai. And they rocked like fuck.
