Xng...Here you go. Lots of short articles and lessons for people like us, who can't deal with wading through tons of info to get what we need:
http://www.buddhanet.net/
As for the rest. I find it interesting that the most spiritual people I know are goths. That's not saying that there aren't stupid little pipsqueeks running around in ANY group or society. And it's a crying shame that those pipsqueeks are the ones who've made goth a nasty word.
I hate religious intolerance in any form. One of the things this country was founded on, was freedom of religion. And our forefathers were very adamant about secularism when it came to the government.
*sigh* But that's a different soapbox for another day. :?
EDIT: *dies at the number of typos she had to go back and correct*

I haven't read the post yet, but man. I'm irritated by "whom" it'd be "who" here, not "whom".
Jeezus I'm a loser.
On an on topic note: I don't really care what goth is, or isn't. :D
edit: wow, this is an old thread. I should have read it first.

How many variations of the same thread are there? It's so funny they haven't been merged- I like it! such different conversations develop from the same "define goth blah blah" threads! I log onto the general board and it's like "Born a goth?" next thread "Goth" next thread "Goth- A lifestyle choice" and over in the recent posts I see "Less of a goth?" scrolling from the whining section.

Teapotscar, I think the different threads are allowed to remain because they all attack the issue in a slightly different way. And by the way, "Less of a Goth?" is my thread, so don't diss it! :P I don't think I really care one way or the other about boobs, unless they're mine. Maybe it's just me, but I only regard the breasts of other women as competition of sorts. I'm actually a bit vain when it comes to my own boobs. I used to be embarrassed when I was younger because of being an early bloomer, but now I'm proud to have big ones!

Let me acquaint you with two valuable assets:
First is a little thing called the English language; you're killing it.
The second is spell check. While I'm certain that you're saving precious seconds, gauging by the impression your post has provided, I'm sure their not as valuable as you may believe, and writing out whole words would probably save your ass from having to defend yourself from the criticisms of others.
Goth is a splinter culture of the punk movement. It's come to represent many different things today, but is generally associated with morose intellectualism.
I hope that's sufficient, since this isn't the first time this question will have been addressed.

Yeah, maybe if you looked at some of the other threads you would realize that this topic has been done to death. And just because the site is called gothic.net, doesn't mean that we constantly want to talk about goth (unless it's pretty music)!!

there are too many problems with your post for me to point them all out but I will say this because it is a pet peeve of mine: a lot is two words not one, you should have learned this way back in elementary school

Hmm. Aren't the Goths the ones that invaded Rome, a couple of centuries ago?
(I'm being ironic.)

Selena: That all depends on if you're a) a historian, b) an anthropologist or c) from the Roman era... otherwise the term holds a connotation towards a culture centred in music that developed outward with its own unique philosophies, artists, etc.

Ooh, can I be a Visigoth?
(I'm being sarcastic. I just like the word "Visigoth".)

(I'm being ironic too

Don't be mean, E_E, after all, that person might have not yet graduated from retard school...
Guess what? I'm working at a hospital as well, doing the paperwork for the fisiotherapy section and Psychiatry once a week. These sick people are killing me, man....

Nanananananananannana... SPIDERMAN!
(That will only be funny to someone that watched the Family Guy movie... and even then, it's a stretch.)

Somos um bando de selvagens, então! XD
Kidding.
I think this question (what is goth?) is starting to become a cliché.
Diverse, it you want an answer, why don't you start a research?
