Or because I take the word emo
As just being a shortened version of emotional

I doubt any of the kids who claim to be emo really know the origin of the word. All they have to do is go to google, or maybe fourfa.com
I just wish people knew the history behind things. It irks me when people claim to be something that they know nothing about. *eyetwitch*

I don't get the whole hatred of Emo's anyway! I mean like it was stated, Not all of them do self harm (Cutting, hitting, pulling out thier hair. ect ect.), & If you truly think about it: @ the end of the day its the same punk bands, that are called Emo. ( The Used, MCR, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, Saosin, Senses Fail. ect.)

I hate emos as much as I hate Goths. As much as they're widely used today, they both seem to be absolute misnomers in the vast majority, and indicative more of a social and fashionable trend than actual interests and culture.
Also, none of those bands are punk. Most people who call themselves emo have no idea where it actually came from. Y'know, Fugazi, Rites of Spring, Drive Like Jehu, etc.

Much as I hate the use of the word "true" to establish a better-than-you grounding, I agree.
Sometimes I just want to go up to any existing mallcore emo and start shouting "I... I BELIEVED... MEMORY MIGHT MIRROR NO REFLECTIONS ON ME..." just to see if they would pick up on it.

If we didn't have emo's the balance in England would completely fuck up...emo's are used for abusive purposes, if we didn't have emos chavs would start giving the metal heads and goths shit, but of course metal heads have raw power and goths have intelligence, but chavs have numbers, therefor a massive war would break out...
