Music Creation

Does anyone here know of any good music making software that is free to download? im trying to make a few songs, but have no way of making the music.
help would be apreciated. 8)

Fruity loops, audacity?

Then again you need a mic for audacity and you can't save anything on fruity loops until you buy it.

I've used audacity a few times...it seems to be effective and well supported if you run into issues.

My band just records on a cheap ass tape player in my garage. Lo fi yes, but I really don't care how it sounds. Gotta love LO FI!
