You seem to have seriously misinterpreted my posts. I never said anything of that sort, and the point behind the post you appear referencing was more along the lines of it being absolutely ridiculous to play the ol' "my situation is worse than your situation" game. I never said we should abandon logic or masturbate our emotions.

The $200 a month that Korinna gets barely covers food. I know quite a bit more about her situation than virtually everyone else on this forum, so I think I'm in a position to make that call (concerning what comparisons can be made). And while I don't know all the details of Ophelia's situation, I think it's damn rude to harass someone for not having FOOD.

I'm struggling with the wording, so you'll have to bare with me.

I think it depends on the nature and context of the complaint. You can have sympathy for those less fortunate than you and still have a need to express your own emotions.

Maybe she should use THAT money on food?

I don't know what twisted view you have of her, but she doesn't drink, and it's been a year since the last time she smoked.

And I doubt the money she spends on pets would cover food.

That really isn't the point at all, Kor has far more empathy for those less fortunate than the vast majority of the people I have met, that doesn't mean that she can't want to be comfortable herself

I couldn't agree more.

Also, since she's under 18, and her parent's are responsible for her, I find it very irresponsible of them to decide to hand her $200 a month for everything she needs, simply because she has different dietary requirements. That's bull****.
