Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

For your pet male, or for lacing your womanly curves into? I'd imagine that one may order corsets for the female shape in a similar style to the male corsets there.
I'm fairly flat, without too much curve except on the hip, so I'm hoping I could get away with a male-cut corset instead of a female equivalent.

I have a bit of a fetish for men in women's clothes... provided it's the right man of course. I just think can look very elegant.

I'm of the opinion that very few men are suited to wearing corsets, but those who are look absolutely stunning in them.

I'm in the process of drawing up designs for a corset to be worn by myself at the moment.
Still not entirely sure what I want it to be made of.

That could be my view. It is a thing I adore when done correctly.

For a male to pull off a corset - he has to be damned confident. Good sense of style, especially combining elements to pull off a look that isn't over done or too cliche IMO.
I like the idea. Sounds kinda sexy haha.

That's it, you nailed it. It's the confidence plus the aesthetic sensitivity. I mean, I'm not talking Jayne County here, she had confidence but... didn't look too hot.

Corsets look ridiculous on pretty much anyone, regardless of gender.

Well if someone is wearing one as a serious everyday 'fashion statement" then yea - its a little ridiculous. But if its just for fun - concert/culb attire, then its interesting.

When it comes to wearing corsets (in regards to both men and women) what it really comes down to is, are you wearing the corset or is the corset wearing you? If you look uncomfortable, self-conscious, etc. then it is going to read more like a costume as opposed to an outfit and unless it's Halloween you're going to look ridiculous. But if you have the poise and confidence then there's no reason why you can't pull off that particular style and look damn good doing it!

I think that's it exactly. You have to have a well made, well fitting corset and know how to wear it. When done right it looks great but it does require a bit of knowledge. That's why I leave corsets to the specialists
