Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Halloween Mixed CD
Yes, I already got together a list of songs for a Halloween mix, but my friends have their parties planned so I felt like making one. Just thought I'd see if anyone has songs they think I should add, and if you have a mix you've made you're welcome to post it.
1) Every Day is Halloween - Ministry
2) Scary Monsters (& Super Creeps) - David Bowie
3) Dead Souls - Joy Division
4) Spell Bound - Siouxsie and the Bashees
5) Brains! - Voltaire
6) Zombie Hop - Zombina & the Skeletones
7) The Sanity Assassin - Bauhaus
8) The Time Warp - The Rocky Horror Picture Show
9) Lullaby - The Cure
10) This is Halloween - Nightmare Before Christmas
11) Pet Sematary - The Ramones
12) Subterraneans - Flesh for Lulu
13) I Was a Teenage Werewolf - The Cramps
14) Now I'm Feeling Zombified - Alien Sex Fiend

You might consider The Misfits - Halloween.
Was there any particular reason for choosing "The Sanity Assassin", other than it's an awesome song?

Well, last year I used "Bela Lugosi's Dead" which I think is kind of an obvious choice for a Halloween mix...but I thought the long atmospheric intro for that song, although great, wasn't the best for my party. For Halloween mixes I like songs that are crazy sounding, Halloween is about being a bit crazy after all, so I just feel like it fits nicely despite not being an obvious pick.
Oh, also, I've listened to that song by The Misfits before, but wasn't sure if adding that to the mix when I already have two songs with Halloween in the title and lyrics would be a bit overdoing it.

Dead Man's Party ~ Oingo Boingo
Every party sucks without that song.

Thank you Grausamkeit! First time I've heard that song, but I'd say it's a must add for my mix.

I quite like this but it might be a bit slow for your list :

I might also go for some A Spectre is Haunting Europe as well if I were making a halloween playlist of my own. Maybe the song Hospital Problems.

The Cinema Strange song? Yes, it is a little creepy. Or did you mean the other band I suggested?

Thank you for the suggestion MissCheyenne, a good song, but I'm not sure yet if I want to add it.

"Nobody Loves You (When You're Dead)" - Zombina and the Skeletones
"Haunted House" - Elvira
"Do They Know It's Hallowe'en?" - feat. Beck, Feist, Arcade Fire, Devendra Banhart, Elvira, David Cross, Rilo Kiley, Wolf Parade & Thurston Moore
"When You're Evil" - Voltaire
"He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask)" - Alice Cooper
I'm putting my iTunes Halloween playlist list together, so more as I add 'em.

Adding "Haunted House" by Elvira. May add "Nobody Likes You (When You're Dead)" and "When You're Evil" but I'm not sure yet, I'm attempting to not repeat bands.
Thanks everyone, keep the suggestions coming!

Awesome song Saya, can't say I've ever heard of Jonathan Coulton before. Definitely getting added to the mix.

Use the AFI or The Creepshow's version of it. Both are better. As for the misfits, how can you have a halloween playlist without SKULLS!?!?!
Beyond the Tanarian Hills - Rudimentary Peni

No problem, Rudi P is great. Lovecraftian Anarcho-punk? How could you go wrong?
Their singer Blinko wrote the album Cacophony while commited against his will to a mental hospital.

Ha ha! Yes Rudimentary Peni I think is going to be one of my new favorite bands. I kept playing Tanarian Hills over and over again :-P
