a doctor created peanut butter to help patients who couldn't chew consume adequate protein and calories. jelly, more rightly known as preserves, was created for just that reason. before refrigeration, women would make preserves and leave it in their cellar in order to have fruit during the winter months to stave off scurvy. the combination of the two is a modern day marvel that tastes fuckin' great when you're either too stoned or too drunk to care about much else.

if someone smashed your mouth with a bat and then forced you to eat a lump of steak - do you think you could do it?
