A couple weeks ago I posted some pics of my cats and ferrets and noted that Isabelle and Elisabeth were pregnant. Heh. Well, they both had their kittens on Christmas day. Nine of them, in all. And a bit of a crazy story to go along with it. Isabelle was the first to give birth, sometime between 5am (when I went to bed) and 11am (when I woke up). But she only had two. So I figured she'd have at least 1 or 2 more. Later in the day I was looking through a box of christmas decorations and kept hearing kittens. Figured it was coming from down the hall. To my surprise I moved something in the box and there between a bag of stuffed animals and some garlands were two more kittens. Crazy cat. So I put them with their mother and other two siblings and that's when I saw that Elisabeth (Isabelle's sister) was in the box with them all and would not leave. A little while later, proly around 5 or 6 in the evening, Elisabeth started having her kittens, and Isabelle stayed right there the whole time, helping to clean and nurse the newest born. I'd never seen anything like it. Mother cats are usually teritorial with their kittens but not these two. They've always been inseperable and this just proves it. So I thought I'd share a couple pictures with all of you. :-)

That's too damn cute.
And Needled, your cat (the one that passed on) looks like such a sweetheart.

That cat is huge, Wolf!
I love how cats lay all over shoes. And I have a lint roller as well.
I have to use it almost every day.

Maine Coon. Named for their state of origin and their most common coloring (a brown tabby that resembles a raccoon).

It is Maine Coon. They're definitely not an Egyptian type of cat, at least based on what I've seen of Egyptian art. Maine Coons are SUPER hairy, while Egyptian cats are sleek and slender (more like the Abyssinian).
I guess the "mancun" spelling came from someone who had heard of the Maine Coon breed but had never seen the name written down.
I don't know much about cats, but I'm certain of the Maine Coon info.

resize, please?!
Could one of the admins (or you, Needled) resize Needled's four HUGE photos? They're making my display completely wonky on this whole thread.

I think you can resize them in photobucket, no edits here needed.

I can edit them in photobucket, but that's not going to change the pictures that are already posted on this thread. But I'll keep that in mind for future reference!!

if you edit them in photobucket it breaks the link. but you can repost them in smaller form.

The pictures aren't actually posted (as in hosted) on this thread - they're hosted on photobucket and "called" to be viewed on this site via the image tag.
You CAN resize the image in photobucket. Just use the button in photobucket that says "resize." The link will not be broken unless you rename the photo.

Speaking of kitties I finally have pictures of mine!
This is my kittie Samhain. My husband got him for me this Halloween, hence the name.
and watching TV...
Here is Asia. Fat and complacent...

Julia, you're kittens look like sweethearts. How old are they?
And BH, so do your kitties. Why does Samhain look so familiar?
Don't you love it when cats watch TV? It's cute seeing them watch it so attentively.

I dunno...
Sammy is far from sweet. He is very evil. He hides under the bed and swipes my toes. He never lets me pet him unless he's asleep. He tears up toilet paper. He drinks from my water glass by my bed at night. He dances naked in the light of the full moon.
He tries to catch the CNN new tickers at the bottom of the screen. We're afraid he's going to scratch it in his infinite, infinite evilness.
Such are kittens...

Sammy is adorable! Reminds me of Nails when she was a kitten. I had to throw away remnants of what used to be an entire roll of toilet paper on many an occasion. She also broke a few glasses trying to drink my water. She likes to stay out until 3am and worry me to death as well.
I don't have actual children yet and my feline kids are already just like me and giving me premature gray hair...
Thank you Korova, they were born on December 21st, 2006 around 6:30am. I was awakened that day by tiny little mews. I can't remember jumping out of bed that fast since Christmas Day when I was a kid...hehehe.

That's awesome. I love Rottweilers, they can be the sweetest dogs, and they're great with kids, even toddlers.
