Jon, your founding fathers didn't follow the law of the English crown. Look where that got them! 0_o

Tried out two baking ideas I had for my Wonderland birthday tea party and neither of them worked out
At least they're still yummy, they just don't look like I had imagined.

Dead to the last man. O_o
I kid. It got them a lot further than the Bonus Army ever got. Those poor fuckers just wanted to get paid for their service.

My test results haven't come through yet. Starting to freak out a bit now but on the other hand, I keep telling myself they weren't rushing for the results so surely that means everything will be ok. Fucksticks.

Not to stress you but yeah, it can take time. Did they give you a time frame at all? Here it can take weeks.
and Sol, get out of my head because I'm planning a Mad Tea Party birthday.

You get out of my head! I've already got my friend Mary in there (we're having a joint birthday party and both immediately decided it was an un-birthday party since its the Sunday between our birthdays). I'm in charge of food and she is in charge of decorations and I think we are both going a little overboard and a little crazy but coming up with pretty much the exact same ideas.

Well Mary doesn't drink (and the party will start in the early afternoon) so I'm not pre-mixing anything alcoholic and just letting people utilize our fairly well stocked bar. That being said there will be fresh lemonade, coffee, various teas, and a mimosa bar with bubbly and various juices.

She was born with a heart murmur and the pet shop was about to send her back to the breeder who would've put her down.. so I bought her. We didn't think that she'd live more than a few weeks, if that long.. but she's 7 years old now. She went into congestive cardiac failure about 6 months ago and it was only because we have a brilliant vet that she didn't die that night.
We've had her on medication (which literally costs more each week than my take-home pay). Last weekend she went downhill fast, and now she's tachycardic and her resp rate is up. Until last night she was still eating small amounts and walking around. Today she can't walk more than a few steps without her legs giving way under her. She isn't in pain at all.. it's just that her body is failing because she's expending so much energy on her heart beating and her breathing.
I think it's going to only be a couple of days, if that long.

Dear, dear Ms. A. Sorry to hear about your bud. Hugs.
And. Having had to type yet another sad report on yet another young life permanently altered by a drunk driver -- Dear Gnet folks, please, please, please, over this St. Patrick's Day holiday, enjoy yourselves, but above all-- Drive Sober and Drive Safely! Okay. That's not a request -- that's an order (because I'm a medical professional and a mom). *heavy sighs*

Thanks guys.
@Jaye Jang - I'm with you on the drink/drive thing. It used to infuriate me when I was nursing. Please take care of yourself, having to deal with that all of the time leaves a toll.

Love her, pet her, take care of her. That's all you can really do, there isn't anything beyond that, you've already given her years that she wouldn't have had otherwise. *hugs* Its hard to loose a friend, regardless of species.

I watched an 8 disc boxset of the original Dark Shadows only to find that it stops at episode 290 and worst of all there aren't any others released in Australia.

I was going to do that but I couldn't find any inexpensive bottles that you can actually put a drink in (the cheap ones are for decoration only, not food safe, and I'm trying not to keep a fairly tight budget) so I'm just making a drink me label for the lemonade even though it will be in a large container.

Bless you Sol et al. Hope you had a fun -- and safe -- St. Paddy's Day. Me, I had to work OT because that's one of the holidays where the workload skyrockets. So, after getting off I went to bed and crashed -- and woke up with hayfever. Yay!! Soon as the snow dies down the pollen count goes up. So, I have to go to work with itchy, swollen eyes, a runny nose and a head that feels like it's been stepped on. Oh, the joys of having hayfever. I get to suffer all of the ill effects of having celebrated St. Patrick's Day without any of the real effort. Happy me.

^this. Sorry to hear Miss A of your loss of your friend/dog.
What is it with Indian men and gang rrape?
My wrists are stuffed. More painkillers to get through what I need to do. Totally sucks sometimes to be a primary carer, to someone who can't walk.
