Grufti tattooed French old goth
Hi everyone here,
I'm Mina, living in France just near Germany. I'm illustrator and printmaker. I'm also tattooed ( heavily ). I'm living with my old punk, three cats and a Gascony blue basset who look like a sausage, but cutest.
I'm a wanderer and during summer I'm traveling a lot in caravan like a gypsy goth girl.
This subforum is the place for members, new and old, to introduce themselves.
Start your own new thread, preferably with your name in the title and let folks get to know you a little.
This is a little bit different in structure from the way we had done this in the past, but we feel that if might be a much better way for people to really find the sorts of people they are interested in interacting with, without having to read through 50,000 posts all bound up in one giant unwieldy thread.
Here are the original questions to get you started:
Actually, we're changing a few, now that we mention it.
1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
Illustrator / painter / printmaker
2. Where are you from?
Alsace
3. Who is your favorite author?
Tolkien forever
4. What are your favorite films?
The crow, tarantino's movies, Rodriguez movies, Wes Anderson movies, sennentuntschi, birdman and more...
5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
I hate weddings actually
6. At your funeral?
All apologies, Nirvana ( not goth it's okay, but Nirvana is my peche mignon and I love so much the lyrics )
7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
I don't want to die, I want being a vampire. I'm waiting...
8. What kind of casket would you want?
A carved one with purple velvet inside
9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
All black outfit
10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
A better health ( I have a chronic degenerative disease )
11. What's your favorite band?
Joy Division, Die Form, Eintzurzende Neubauten, soft moon, 90s VNV nation, ministry, nine inch nails, Gary numan, the horrors, the black Angels, Eros necropsyke, Bauhaus, early Marilyn Manson, early Rammstein, suicide commando.....
12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
Assume and evince
13. Why did you join?
Because I feel alone. At 42 not a lot of my friends are still goth
14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Female but for many it appears that I'm androgynous due to my size and probably developed chin ah ah ah

Greetings and welcome to GothNet Mina. You'll have to teach us some French. What is a peche mignon?
I think it's wonderful that you're an artist and a printmaker! I have quite a few prints, woodcuts and engravings. But my favourites are my old French lithographs - one of Voltaire, one of Napoleon and one of Louis Philippe plus many others of poets and painters. But my best two are by the great lithographers Zepherin Belliard and Nicholas Eustache Maurin.
I don't know if you've heard of these artists but they were masters in their day. Do you sell your work on-line. I'd love to see it.
I'm nearly 51 and none of my friends are goths, but I like it that way.
Bien Amicalment.

Mina,
I took a look at your page, and enjoyed your art.
After the first couple pictures, I found myself thinking... She could probably make cool Tarot, or Playing cards.
And then I saw them... Your Erotic Tarot Woodcuts.
'Le Diable' is great, but I liked them all.
Also liked 'Always'.
(Should have known it was Severus. I'm unashamed to say... I love a good Anti-Hero character)
42... Your not that much older than me.
Age does seem to filter out those who weren't really into this lifestyle.
Or beliefs and values change, as some just evolve into different people.
And that's OK, because everyone walks their own path...
But it can make you feel very alone, when you notice your tribe getting smaller, and smaller.
I hope you find like minds here.
Hello + Welcome.

@Stormbringer : peche mignon is indulgence, something you like like a sin.
Thanks for your nice word about my work. I know the artists you like ) we have long tradition of engraving art in France.
Yes I sell my work online here: http://www.etsy.com/Shop/Mariemeierart or the face less known www.minamond.com
@Pr1ap1sm: thank you. Actually I done another tarot , the Tarot Des Amazones and I will work soon on another one. I'm tarot reader so it helps.
I'm a sociable girl, I can discuss with many people but I miss having a kind of tribe around for talking about common things )

Hey Mina. Excellent work. I really like Apocalypse Frida. She looks like a Hindu goddess and I like that you've used Aztec images. Brilliant !

I'm happy to read you Anise ! Thank you !
Stormbringer, thank you, symbols and significations are important in my work, in illustration of course, but also for my own personal work.
Thanks to notice it )
Nothing to do with this conversation, but is it possible to tag people in replies ?

Hmm I don't think so .. at least not that I've seen?
I think a subscription to a thread is activated when one posts on it, at least I seem to get this notification in my emails; although it appears to be somewhat delayed. Tagging would be a welcome capability
