There isn't much going on here. Thinking about life and stuff. Trying to decide if there are any hidden ideas holding me back, because of a desire to somehow travel back in time and do some things differently. I'm never like that. Always positive, if anything changed it would actually be much worse. Sulky I guess.

You would have thought i could have traveld across this land without some tale to tell.Just one story, one anicdote that would amuse, entertain or sadden people.Lost, thats how i'd describe myself, lost without an tiny intresting thing to say.
The amount of times i have gone out of the way to do something new or worthwhile only for it not to happen.Game as i was to try anything, literally anything, it led to nought.
Losers, winners, rich, poor, travellers, stayers i asked them all for advice and all they ever said was "Read the first word of every sentence"

Does it bother anyone else, someone claiming to have been reading the forums for awhile still posted and introduction thread in general forum?

I'm going on a girls night out on Friday and I'm really excited, I haven't been out without Jake in a while (and as much as I love him to bits I like to have my own social life). We're going for drinks and chocolate fondue at the Melting Pot, fun times to be sure.

Does anyone else find the ad for "high quality kids fashion" funny? I mean who would put something like that on a site like this?

I have decided that I have too much free time and not enough money so I have decided to get a part time job (in addition to my full time job). I made this decision about a week ago and have an interview scheduled for next Tuesday. The thing is I've never interviewed for a retail job, I know I shouldn't be totally casual but it is a pretty casual store (for those interested the store is Buckle, it is kind of along the lines of Aeropostale or American Eagle, just not as many locations) so I'm not sure if nice jeans (with a blouse and nice accessories) would be better than slacks. Oh well I have a week to decide.

Unfortunately, I know retail.
First off, apply for management if you can.
Second, dress sharp. If you own any, wear their clothes.
Use business jargon, and say you plan on ascending the ranks, even if that's a lie.
Lastly, ask for a stupidly high amount of money, and let them talk you down. You'll never be able to talk them up, so if you imagine like, $15 an hour is reasonable, ask for $17.25 or something.
Oh yeah, and unless you really think you should, DO NOT call to "ask about the status of your application." When people call and ask that, I hate it, and they immediately go into the NO pile.

Is that a common thought?
I had a really hard time getting a job in retail, and now I wonder if that has something to do with it.

I KNEW IT.
Mom always told me to call because it shows initiative, but I always thought I'd be a nag.
It would work with Sears though. Nobody keeps track so its probably a good reminder.

Yeah that advice is pretty dependent on the type of place that you are applying to, generally ones that have high turnover aren't places that you want to call back, at the very least not until after you have had an interview.
Bah I'm fried, time to play plants vs zombies.

Good to know. I've only held a handful of jobs, so I could really use the advice about looking.

I think it would be okay to ask at the interview when they are likely to make a decision.
And yeah ask for more money up front, because once they have you in, you won't get a rise.
