lol true the books aren't written very good at all, in fact it reads like fanfiction most of the time. but you have to hand it to stephenie meyer, she obvs realized how to hook people into a books series, lace the paper with cocaine! I must admit that these books are a guilty pleasure of mine, but I am only in it for the lolz. There are many people out there that read the books but at the same time realize how full of fail smeyer is and don't worship the ground she walks on.

I actually read the first one to see what the big deal was. I'd have loved it...if I were 12 years old and had never heard of Anne Rice. To each their own, but I can waste my time doing much more productive things. Like reading Harry Potter fanfiction *insert eye roll*

Compared to this my Martial Arts novel sounds original.

<sob> My precious masturbation....
And Linkin Park too?
oh well..cutting out to the drama, it was a HORRIBLE BOOK. The people who like it aren't at fault, since they haven't seen any better, and aren't willing to accept it now that the freaking LOVE Edward Cullen <giggle>. Bella has fucking become my way of saying "bitch".
Old Steph seems to think she's being hardcore and original with her Romeo and Juliet vampire style!!!<heart> <smiley> XXX theme. Seriously. GO TO THE TEEN SECTION. LOOK AT HOW MANY FREAKING TEEN VAMP/ROMANCE NOVELS THERE ARE.
I used her work as a comparison to Anne Rice's eloquence in my essay and I am not changing my opinion anytime soon.

JCC lay off Dracula.
I personally thought that book to be really interesting, but to each their own I suppose.

This book needs the magic of Duane, then it might be better.... but, even the magic of Duane can't save twilight, or whatever it's called.

Someone told me I'd make a better Edward than what they currently have for that part. I agree. I blow that fucker way the hell out of the water.

Okay so my roommate loves the books (somewhat obsessively) so she bet me that if I read Twilight that I would understand and share in her love of the books so I'm reading it I'm about halfway through the book and have seen about two chapters worth of plot development and after reading Bella and Edward's first kiss I am positive that SM has never been kissed (at first I was thinking that maybe she was just awkward and didn't fit in while she was in high school and that was the reason why her teen love story didn't seem to have any bass in reality but I am now convinced that she has no idea what a relationship is like at all, but hey whatever even though she apparently somehow has children). So far I have yet to grasp the love that people have for these books and have decided that the editor of Twilight sucked ad I have found more than a handful of misused words as well as some very awkward wording *shrug* it is exactly what I would expect form any cheap teen romance novel.

-_-.....hear me rock???
alright, I'm threadjacking, so let me just add a comment here...
Twilight, at first seemed fairly promising, and is worth reading just so I can be disgusted out of my wits or to laugh my ass off at how naive SM can even be. Is this not another story of a perfect girl and a perfect guy that fall in love and have some lame problem....in this case, the guy is a vampire blah blah blah BIG FUCKING DEAL.
There is no reality anywhere in the book, so I might just pick up New Moon for a good laugh.

Someone over on 4chan just brought forth an excellent point.
If these books were marketed as parodies, I'd think Meyer was a brilliant writer.

Think?
Meyer is an excellent writer.
She's managed to seriously make me laugh to tears.
That's a first.

That's cool! I don't mind them, to me there just another series on the bookshelf at K-mart. A fun read but that's it. What I don't get is why it's caused a massive debate? Why does it matter if it's trash? And if you feel people should be reading better stuff than write something!!

Most of the people who have a serious problem with the books on here ARE writers.
I know off the top of my head that Gothicus, JCC, and I are all writers.
I think Jillian is as well.

Plus, that's stupid anyway. I bet she's complained about the government before (it's a fad, it's kwl to know nothing about politics but still bitch), why doesn't she run the US instead? Such backward logic.
